THE CLARKE COUNTY TRIBUNE PAGE 16 THURSDAY, APRIL 14, 2016 Hicks to be honored for accomplishments Cameron Hicks, a former Quitman High School Honor Graduate and Mississippi Scholars student, will be honored at the University of Southern Mississippi for his outstanding academic and leadership accomplishments at the 26th Annual Celebration of Scholastic Excellence Awards Program on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Thad Cochran Center Grand Ballroom. Cameron has also been chosen to become a member of Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society. Alpha Kappa Mu is a general scholarship honor society open to juniors and senior men and women in all academic areas. Their purpose is to promote high scholarship, encourage sincere and zealous endeavor in all fields of knowledge and service, to cultivate a high order of personal living, and to develop an appreciation for scholarship and scholarly endeavor in others.

Cameron is currently attending the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a junior and is majoring in television, radio, and film production. He earned a scholarship and works for the Southern Miss Athletic Department as a student media specialist. He is the son of Charles and Tracey Hicks.
