Joan lived her last few years in Vancouver, but Montreal was always her home. He was a devoted husband and father: survived by his wife and partner of 43 years Rheena, his three sons Chad (Dee), Travis (Hannah), Luke, daughter Maggie (Anna Lynn) and his best medicine his grandson Wyatt. be deeply missed by his brother Lance (April), Aunties Josie, Bernice, Elsie, Betty and Uncle Eugene, many cousins especially cousins Cynthia, Marlyn, Ginny Thelbert. He was a wonderful brother and cousin-in-law who could be depended on to help out when needed; a doting uncle cohosting countless adventures to entertain many nieces and nephews.

He gathered many friends in life some of long standing and who he was, very fond of: Joanne, Donald. Gary, Dale, and new ones Allan, Madeline, Herb and Vera. We are grateful for the excellent and compassionate care given him by Dr. Bruemmer, Dr. Chaytor, Dr.

JEFFERIES, Maurice February 8, 1931 March 31, 2016 Maurice died suddenly but peacefully at home in Hudson, Quebec. Much loved husband and friend of Mary (nee Emslie). Loving father of Cynthia and Angela (Claude), proud grandfather of Alex, Connor, Eric and Michael who will miss very much. Missed also by Mary's children, Louise (David), Australia, Ian (Lisa), Ottawa, and their families. Born in London, England and educated at Whitgift School, Croydon, Maurice immigrated to Canada in 1955.

Longtime employee of CAE Montreal, keen sailor, past Commodore of lle Perrot Yacht Club and for over 30 years a member of Hudson Yacht Club, marvellous ballroom dancer, keen curler, but above all, a cyclist! Joining the Norwood Paragon Cycling Club in England in 1946, he was British National champion in Team Pursuit in 1950. Shortlisted for the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki, a crash in training ended his Olympic dream but only temporarily! After arriving in Canada he continued to race but in the mid-1960s became coach of the Canadian National Track team, culminating in the squad winning four medals at the Commonwealth Games in 1970. He also coached the team for the 1972 Olympics in Munich. He became Technical Director for the 1974 World Cycling Championships in Montreal and for the Olympic Cycling events in 1976. He was a well respected International Cycling Commissaire, officiating at top events throughout the world.

Maurice was warm, caring and modest a man of few words, but always relevant. He is missed by sister Margaret (Toronto), twin brother Michael (Tasmania) and many nieces and nephews in England, Canada and Australia. Predeceased by brother Peter. In lieu of flowers, donations to Nova Hudson or the Jewish General Hospital would be appreciated. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2 p.m.

and the late Rose Alba Demers, born at Palmer, Massachusetts, U.S.A., on September 8. 1924. While finally residing at La Tour Westmount One, died peacefully at on March 24, 2016. Predeceased by both parents and by her first husband, Philippe Casgrain. Survived by her husband.

Wyndham Alfred Strover, of Rothesay. New Brunswick; her only daughter, Lynne -Marie Casgrain (Julius Grey); her sons, Superior Court Justice Kirkland Casgrain (Julie Latour) and Marc Casgrain Perruchat); and seven grandchildren. In 1961, was first elected to Legislative Assembly to replace her deceased father in the riding of Jacques Cartier, which he had represented since 1939. Sitting there alone as the first and only woman Member for twelve years, she held Cabinet posts under Premier Lesage and later Premier Bourassa, being appointed by Order-in-Council to replace the latter as Interim Premier in 1972 during his brief absence; in 1964, she succeeded in bringing about changes in Civil Code which had hitherto severely limited the legal capability of the married woman. After leaving the Assembly, she sat as a Judge of Provincial Court from 1973 until her final retirement in 1990.

By Letters Patent of the Chief Herald of Canada in 1998, she was granted a personal Coat of Arms, which to her great joy as a life-long ardent supporter of McGill University, was surmounted by McGill's red martlet.
