Kipf of Highland, received net bachelor of arts degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in the commencement exercises on uhe; '22 Miss Kipf majored in home economics, with chemistry 'and sociology as minor subjects. On' the-campug Miss Kipf was active in numerous groups, including the Home Economics club, of which she has been, vice-''president aha president, i She was elected to Kappa Omicron Phi, honorary fraternity, holding the office of recording secretary in the Santa Barbara and also was elected to charter membership in Key Scroll, national honorary junior women's society, serving that group as treasurer, Miss Kipf, who received the Kappa Omicron Phi award to outstanding senior women, plans to take a home service position with a public utility concern, and is remaining at Santa Barbara for the summer session. Kern will make their home at 3239 Stoddard avenue, San Bernardino. Mrs. Ambrose and Mr. Kern are the daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs.

Matt Kern, and the Jatter is engaged in business in this city. The new Mrs. Kern is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Kastl of Auburn, Iowa, and is employed at the American National bank. Mr.

More Swim Classes Will Begin at (Y Because of the interest In swimming instruction, additional classes are now being formed at the Y.W.C.A. where girls desiring beginning, intermediate or advanced training may enroll.

Physical examinations are necessary and will be provided by the association Wednesday, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Anyone desiring class or private instruction should call the Y.W.C.A. for further information. SPECIAL PARTIES The pool is open every afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. for recreational swimming and Monday evening is family night.

Co-ed swimming is enjoyed at the pool on Wednesday nights and special parties may be arranged each Tuesday. Dorothy Easley, pool instructor, is formerly of Lima, Ohio, where she instructed classes at the Y.W.C.A. and the Y.M.C.A. She also was lifeguard at the Lima public pool, and was a member of the Aquatic club there. ATTENDS SCHOOL Beverly Schroeder is the lifeguard for recreational swimming and is a sophomore student at the University of Red-lands where she majors in physical education.

She recently returned from aquatic school at Catalina Island where she received her instructor's certificate. The Y.W.C.A. pool is under the supervision of Miss Marjorie Anstey, young adult director, who also is an instructor and lifeguard at the pool. Birthday Celebrated At Afternoon Party At an afternoon lawn party, Darla McDonald, daughter' of Mr. and Mrs.

J. C. (Mack) McDonald, celebrated her eighth birthday at her home in Lytle Creek canyon June 14. School friends greeting Darla were Linda Maxwell, Sandra Peterson, Linda Douglas, Bonnie and Joyce McDevitt, Marcia Kirkland, Marilyn and Carol Gustafson, Sharon and Jane Lange, Suzanne Housladen, and Marvin McDonald. E. Johnson and sponsored by the Shiloh Seventh-Day Adventist church. The affair was held last Sunday evening. Elder Johnson recently came to this area from Chicago, having served there as home missionary and Sabbath school secretary of the Lake Regional conference. He is taking the position of district leader in the Southeastern" California conference.

Fr. Thomas A. Matthews conducted the twin nuptials, using a double ring ceremony. Gladioli in colorful variety decorated the church, where 50 guests gathered for the event. Mrs.

William F. Boland played the wedding music and accompaniment for Miss Marilyn Harmon, soloist. Both brides wore white suits with blue blouses and brown accessories, and both carried bouquets of red rosebuds. Miss Agnes Kern attended Miss Kastl and Miss Leona Kern acted as maid of honor for her sister, Margaret. M.

Kern was his brother's best man, and Walter A mum Delegates Named By Legion Women To State Parley Delegates to the California department convention of the American Legion auxiliary were elected at the July 1 meeting of San Bernardino unit No. 14. Six delegates were named, and the same number of alternates, for the conclave, scheduled for Sept. 21 to 24 in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Dan Shefstall newly installed president, heads the group of delegates, including Mmes. Hugo Wilde, Clyde Auld, Rex Rarick, Fred L. Brown and Howard W. Scott.

The alternates are Mmes. Walter H. C. Steele, John Lankford, J. Alison Shaner, William H.

Krips, Albert O. DesLauriers and Jay Cummins. Following the meeting, conducted by Mrs. Shefstall, the unit adjourned until Aug. 5.
