Inaugurating a novel new Idea to Insure more comprehensive 'welcome and entertainment of guests at the National Orange Show, President William Starke yesterday announced that a special women's reception division will be added to the general entertainment committee headed by Chairman J. B.

Gill. Each year the wife of the president of the Orange Show will serve as chairman ot the feminine auxiliary of the committee on entertainment of guests and special parties, which Is headed by Mr. GUI this year. Wives of the members of the executive committee of the exposition will form the women's division of the reception group. Explaining his new Ideas yesterday, he said: "Because the National Orange Show Is gaining a wonderful feminine patronage it seems due this large contingent that we should take special recognition of their attendance each year.

On that account we will provide a special women's division of the entertainment committee to make a particular duty of cordial reception and hospitable entertainment of the thousands of women visiting the Orange Show. "Chairman Gill of the general reception and entertainment committee has gone Into this matter thoroughly with' me, and we are convinced that this new group will serve a real purpose The Orange Show has become such a national Institution that adequate reception of its guests Is a problem of real Importance, requiring both men and women to devote time and thought to the task. "Increased stress will be placed upon the welcome which the Orange Show extends to women guests and the new feminine group will assume responsibility for the welcome of women's clubs and similar organizations, besides relieving Chairman Gill of the task of planning and directing entertainment of the wives of special delegations visiting the (Continued from Page Thirteen)' parking was permitted," he aald, "there were 26 cars. On my side of the street there were 13 cars. We need parking space worse than two lines of traffic.

Why, we could have obtained 20,000 signers to the petitions asking the abolishment of the parallel plan." J. M. Abbott, Third street merchant, said that he had Interviewed out-of-town residents, many of whom frankly told him that they now shop In Redlands and other cities because of the parallel parking law. Councilman C. A.

Bouse said that he believes the enforcement of the two-hour parking law 'by Police Chief Harry R. Heap will have Its effect In providing more parking space, because the business and professional men and their employes will keep their cars off the streets. Owners of parking lots, represented by Arthur Harris, were assured that the city's free parking lots will not be operated at night time, when most of the revenue is obtained by the parking lot owners. The owners also offered a lucent rate to business men for their patrons, Mr. Harris stating that they are anxious to cooperate with the business men, but are not Interested in the controversy over tho parallel or diagonal parking.

The Importance of conserving water, however, was stressed re-ncctedlv durlntr the conference. The nrolect does not contemplate i the development of additional lands but the conservation of sufficient water to care for the lands already under Irrigation. "So far as Irrigation water Is concerned I do not, know any one who is willing to say where we shall get an additional supply," said Mr. Cuttle, by way of indicating there Is no source available for additional Irrigation water.

The Colorado river Is relied upon to furnish the additional domestlo supply necessary for the future growth of the cities.
