Magazine TV Show i By Jon-Michael Red May was certainly a busy month for Julia Barr, who portrays Brooke English Cudahy on "All My Children." She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy (but, alas, lost) as Outstanding Actress, she made a second trip to the altar, and she decided to leave her soap role. Julia, who was born in Fort Wayne, studied acting at Purdue University and at the Studio Arena Theatre in Buffalo, N.Y. She worked for a telephone answering service in Manhattan before she landed the role of Reenie Szabo on "Ryan's, Hope," which led to the role of naughty Brooke on "AMC." Although Brooke has mellowed recently and turned into something of a heroine, Julia's raspberry-sauce delivery and pert manner has remained deliciously appealing. Before she departed for a Caribbean honeymoon with her new husband, Richard Hirschlog, an oral surgeon, Julia informed her "AMC" bosses that she wouldn't extend her contract with the show in June. She's ready to move into other performing areas, primarily as a rock-and-roll star with a band she helped organize.

Julia's replacement in the role of Brooke is Harriet Hall, who first came to soap-opera fame as Andrea Moore on the defunct "Somerset." Harriet also played a girl terrorist briefly on "One Life to Live" last year. But she'll have to load up with plenty of ammunition to dispel the lovely memory of Julia. Lisa Brown isn't fazed that she re ceives a bagful of hate mail each week. "It just means I must be doing a convincing acting job," says the Kansas City-born actress who plays conniving seductress Nola Reardon on "Guiding Light." Lisa began her career at age 13 as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs dance-and-drill team. She later toured in the musical 'Seesaw" for choreographer-director.

Tommy Tune, who then cast her in a featured role in his production of Broadway's "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." It was in that show that Lisa was spotted by Doug Marland, head writer of "GL," who created the role of Nola specifically for the young actress. Gloria Loring says she usually receives polite fan mail. But ever since her "Days of Our Lives" character, Liz Courtney, began an on-screen affair with divorced Don Craig, Gloria's mail has been "spiked" with sexual advice and innuendos. "Some of the letters," says Gloria, "suggest I show Don what a real woman is like." COMING SOON: Garth is accused of being a woman-beater on "Search for Tomorrow," and his wife, Kathy, takes precautions against becoming another "scar-faced baby." Marianne returns from her honeymoon with Rick on "Another World" but discovers that she can't forget her "one-night fling" with Jamie. Peg, a.k.a.

Cobra, on "All My Children" orders a hit on her own child. On "Texas," Barrett goes over the edge of sanity because of Ginny's pregnancy by Ryan. i r.rvi. tin oai. oun.
