Variety spices library's art exhibits MAYWOOD Oils by Rosea nna Crespi Lunardoni and graphics by Glenn W. Van Cleve will be featured through the month at the Maywood Public Library, 459 Maywood Ave. A native of Milan, where she attended the Bera Academy of Fine Arts, Mrs. Lunardori completed painting and drawing courses at the National Academy School of Fine Arts and studies with instructors at the Ridgewood Art Association. The award-winning artist is a member of several professional organizations and has exhibited at the National Academy Bicentennial Show in Cooperstown, N.Y., Edward Williams College in Hackensack, and the Paramus Public Library.

Van Cleve, who says he is basically self-taught, has furthered his knowledge of composition and line by studying under Mrs. Lunardori and Justine Buck. He sketches with pencils imported from England and has exhibited in several area shows. In the library display case are miniature oil and acrylic paintings on silver and gold leaf by Buddy Krause of New Milford. Gold leaf, gold beaten into to tissue-like sheets, is a craft Krause learned from master painter Lester Parisch of Oklahoma.

Krause says he uses painting as a means to relax from his job of using heavy explosives for tunnel construction. Led by Anthony Maresca of Bogota, Edward Gozdz of Lodi, Joseph Laido of Fort Lee, Jeffrey Beneduci of Wood-Ridge, and Edward Slawski of Lyndhurst, the class took an honorable mention in the 113th annual Salon of Culinary Art at the Coliseum in New York City. This was the school's first participation in a culinary exhibition. In view of the high professional level of the salon, team members said they felt flattered to have won the honorable mention distinction. The salon is open to schools, colleges, professional cooks, chefs, and their organizations, and it attracts the best chefs of the East Coast and Canada. The Bergen County Technical Education Center group spent two weeks developing its presentation of two entrees and two buffet centerpieces.

The entrees were roulade de boeuf hache, farci (chopped, stuffed beef roll), and ballotine de volaille (boned filled chicken legs). One centerpiece was a red-white-and-blue mousse shaped into a Liberty Bell, called "La Cloche Liberte avec Trois Mousses," and the other, called "Centerpiece Celebrating the Exploration of the Planet Saturn by Voyager II, 1981," was a model of the planet Saturn in chicken pate surrounded by crouton stars.
