He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 48 years. Lucille (1997); parents. Christian and Sophia and 15 siblings. He leaves to mourn his children: Sandra (Doug) Saunders, Barry (Marilyn) Permann; five grandchildren: Carly (Marc) Smart. He is survived by sons, Derek and Kelly and by his longtime friend Gladys Lewis as well as his brother Paul and many other extended family members. Bob worked in the Oil Patch for 3 years with Imperial Oil.

He was an avid fisherman and walked the Bow River pathway extensively in retirement. She taught her children to be self-sufficient, and taught all around her to find the good in others, and to love fust because. She gave the best hugs ever just ask anyone who called her grandma. Jean loved children and always put her family first, sacrificing more than we ever understood to give us peace and happiness. She was also an avid seamstress, and an artist at needlework. ASMUS, Kenneth Murray Kenneth Murray Asmus passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Ken was born and raised in Calgary and had recently celebrated his 60th birthday in June.

Ken is survived by his loving wife and partner Marge; his children Jenny Asmus and Laura Asmus (Brendan), and Jennie, Heidi (JD), Jesse; his grandchildren Jonah, Isaac and Abigail; and his brother Jim and his family. He was very devoted as a husband and partner, parent, grandparent and friend always there for those who needed him. Ken was also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, actively involved and committed to the interests of war veterans and their families. Ken had a long career in the sheet metal industry and worked as a Process Development Manager, contributing innovative ideas and mentorship to many throughout his career. Ken's generous nature and sense of humour would make anyone smile.

He touched many lives great memories of Ken will be cherished for years to come. The family wish to express sincere gratitude and thanks to the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre who went above and beyond to provide care to Ken and help our family through everything. Bob was a letter carrier with Canada Post for almost 25 years and was especially proud of the fact that he missed less than a week of work during his employment. As a devout Christian, he read his Bible daily.

Laura died on Thursday. September 11, 2014 in a scuba diving accident while vacationing with her family off of the coast of Vancouver Island, BC. She was 53 years old. Born in Shaunavon, SK on April 14, 1961, Laura lived in various cities in Canada and the United States before attending the University of Calgary where she graduated with a B.Ed, and later a BA in English.

She was a fine teacher, writer, editor and poet with a unique touch for observing and capturing beauty and sharing it in a precise and personal way. Laura dedicated herself to many causes and charities, devoting countless hours to Ten Thousand Villages and others. Laura was generous of spirit, a giving friend who brightened our lives with her quick wit and warm humour. She loved literature and music, traveling, skiing, hiking, biking, exploring the outdoors, and sitting by the lake with her dog Jesse and puppy Lily in the company of good friends. Laura was the beloved wife of Darrel Purdy for thirty-one years and the proud and devoted mother of sons, Michael and Aaron.

She is also survived by her parents Murray and Elsie Todd; sister Carrie; brothers. Cameron (Colleen) and David (Vhalle); mother-in-law Hazel Purdy; sister-in-law Lynda; and brother-in-law Glen: as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. We all loved her dearly, and will miss her smiles, hugs, and unending love and support. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Laura's Life will be held at St. David's United Church (3303 Capitol Hill Crescent N.W.) on Sunday.

2014 at the age of 81 years with her daughter Linda and husband Harold at her side. She was predeceased by her siblings, John and Dorothy and sons Hal and Kevin Rugg. She and Harold lived on their acreage in the Dewinton Area for 34 years. She enjoyed her gardening, horses and her many pet dogs over the years. She also enjoyed fishing out on the west coast with Harold and the many camping trips with Hal.

two sons Dan (Beverley) and Rob (Kim), and stepchildren Jeremy and Meghan (Steve), grandchild Josie and step-grandchildren Finn, and Bodhi. Jim is also sadly missed by his surviving brothers and sisters Jon (Helen) Ruth Altheim, Pat Sanche, Wesley (Val) Jean Connolly (Jim) their children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father Jack, mother Eileen, brother David, brothers-in-law Ken Altheim and Leo Sanche. Jim had a very successful private practice in clinical psychology in Edmonton where he raised his two sons with his wife Vivian. In 1998.

Jim married Marlena and subsequently moved to British Columbia. Through his years there he battled cancer twice, suffered a major stroke and was stricken with vascular dementia. His work and his life had been dedicated to the betterment of humanity through mental health, self-help and awareness: he was a tireless campaigner for peace and global justice. He was an inspiration and brought love and joy to innumerable friends and family. His passing is tragic, but he can now rest after a monumental struggle against three horrible diseases.

A small private service will be held at Ridgeview Lodge in Kamloops. At a future date, a second service will be held in Alberta to celebrate his remarkable life with family friends.
