The congregation of St. Mary's Catholic church on North Main street, were shocked thjs morning at the 8 mass when Rev.

George J. Dixon, the pastor, announced that during the night a thief entered the church, broke open the tabernacle door, but did not take any of the gold vessels. A survey of the church by Father Dixon, though, revealed that the thief broke open the mor.ey 'drawer on the votice stand, and also on the poor box, but for his trouble only a few cents. This morning at 6 o'clock when 'the janitor, John Lavin, opened the rhurch a middle aged man started to walk out. The janitor began to question him.

The stranger told Mr. Lavin that he was left in the church by a young man last night at 11 o'clock. Sergeant T. F.
