Arturo Toscaninl, famous Italian George T. Harris, remodel dwell OTICE OF HEARING OF PETITION public utility purchase proposal is not sound we will oppose it. If it is sound we will support it. In the interim necessary for the investigation we beg to be excused from the knockers' anvil chorus. This newspaper owns no stock in any utility company.

It has no alliances with utility companies. It will not be a member of Mr. Levering's syndicate that would operate the power companies. Its owners will not be candidates for jobs of running the utilities either under Mr. Levering's syndicate or under municipal ownership.

This newspaper has but one interest, one ambition, to serve its readers and the best interests of the community. MESSRS. TIBBITTS, HOLBROOK, LEVERING, GARNER AND McCORD HAVE KNOCKED ON THE DOORS OF THIS COMMUNITY WITH AN OFFER TO ASSUME LEADERSHIP IN SOLV-ING THE UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM. THEY SHOULD BE HEARD AND THE PEOPLE SHOULD DECIDE ON THE MERITS OF THEIR PROPOSAL. THE COMMUNITY IS READY TO WELCOME AND HONOR ANY LEAD-ERSHIP THAT WILL SOLVE ITS BIG PROBLEM.

WE AWAIT THEIR FURTHER ACTION. conductor, will make his American (Continued from Page Eleven) undertake something for the relief of the immediate situation. Their utility plan could not get under way for some time even under complete community accord. We think, as an evidence of their good faith, they should either contribute to the mayor's emergency relief fund or organize one of their own. Mr.

Tibbitts has refused support of the mayor's plan because of his contention that $4 a day, instead of $2 a day, should be paid in relief. Let them organize a $4 a day fund and appeal for contributions. This newspaper would give a $4 a day fund just as much publicity as it is giving the mayor's "last chance" relief fund. There is room for both. A little competition might be helpful for both.

If there must be a wide difference of opinion in this community over relief, we submit that is no excuse for those with opposing ideas to sit down and await the final decision. The mayor's fund is the only one in operation. Give to it until a better one is in operation! Stomachs are empty now! The Sun assures its readers that nothing said herein means that we will falter in our policy of faithfully serving the community as we see its needs. If this Ing, 314 South Allen street, $500.
