The condition of Anna Bain, who is a patient at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, is slowly improving. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Feather and children of Decatur and Mr. and Mrs.

Russell, became the bride of Gorham L. Pigg, son of Mr. and Gorham L. Pigg, of the Waltonville Road, on Easter Sunday, April 9. The beautiful informal afternoon wedding was performed at four o'clock at the First Baptist church with Dr.

Andrew Caraker, pastor of the church, reading the double ring vows. The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Edward R. Doughty of Oklahoma City, Okla. She was lovely in a royal bhie spring suit with navy accessories. Her hat, of red, was 'trimmed with white.

She carried tw-o white gardenias fastened to a white Bible with narrow- ribbons. Mrs. Charles Vaught, as matron of honor, was attired in a Dlue and chartreuse street length dress with navy accessories. She carried a colonial bouquet. Roy M.

Pigg. brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man and ushers were Bob Piercy and Carl DeSelms. Miss Betty Pemberton. organist, played "I Love You "Always" and "Because" before the ceremony and during the reading of the vows she played "Indian Love Immediately after the ceremony the couple leit for a week's trip through the Smokey, Mountains and Tennessee. Upon their return they will reside at 60S North street, Mt.

Vernon. The new Mrs. Pigg, a former employee of The Register-News, is employed by the Bayer-Hunefelt Drilling Co. Mr. Pigg is employed by the Stock Excavating Company in this city.

Crowder Injured By Fall Aubrey A. Crowder of 708 S. 18th street, w-as severely injured in a fall at his home late Saturday afternoon. Mr. Crowder, who is president of the Central Trades and Labor Council and a Register-News printer, tripped on a w-ire in his backyard and struck his head against a stone walk.

He w-as given emergency treatment at Jefferson Memorial Hospital and is confined to his home. James Jennings Dies At Age 88; Rites Wednesday James J. Jennings, of RFD 6, Mt. Vernon, died at 3:25 a. m.

Sunday at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. His age was 88 years, eight months and eight days. Mr. Jennings, a farmer, had resided on the same farm for the past 52 years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.

m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist church, with the Rev. Sam McCoy officiating, and burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery. The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home In Dix, where friends may call at any time after 6:00 p. m.

Grace Moss of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Mabel Boles of Dix; a half-brother. Manson Walker of Jonesboro, a half-sister. Mrs.

Sallle Scarborough of Norwood, 18 grandchildren. 36 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Name Krebs, Pilson To School Board Robert Krebs and Walter Pllson were re-elected to the Mt. Vernon grade school Board of Education at a quiet election at the junior high school Saturday. A total of 178 votes were cast.

Krebs received 177 votes. Pilson 174 votes. There was one wTlte -ln vote for Bill Moore and one for J. A. Koons.

Hold-over members of the grade school board are Maiitn Rich, president. Orlan Metcalf. Lawrence Collins, Bryan Dycus and Marlon Helfner. BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs.
