He said the proposed 24-hour station, supported by commercials, will bring an education to those other than "the privileged." Sun Victoria Bureau VICTORIA" Municipal Affairs Minister Dan Campbell announced today that 743 unemployed persons in B.C. have now qualified for the government's job ties program. Campbell said in an interview that another 500 applications from unemployed wishing to have 50 per cent of their salaries paid by the gov-- ernment if they find employment in newly -created jobs after Nov. 1 are now being processed.

"Obviously there will be a good response from people seeking to take advantage of the program," Campbell said. Under the program, the B.C. government will pay half the wages of persons who have been residents of the province for a year, on social assistance for three months 'and who go into newly-created jobs, so long as they remain in the jobs for eight weeks. Campbell is chairman of the job opportunities co-ordinating committee. An official of his department, meanwhile, said that since the program was announced by Premier W.
