Miss Bakker teamed with Astrid Suurbeek, also of the Netherlands, to win the women's doubles over Alessandra Gobbo and Monica Giorgi of Italy, 6-3, 6-2. The losers were awarded silver medals for second place. The mixed-doubles gold medal was won yesterday by the Australian pair of Geoffrey Polland and Kay iiening over the Italian tandem of Miss Giorgi and Giordano Maioli. Local Pros Oul Of Thundcrbird Deal The 1967 Thunderbird Classic again will be played at Upper Montclair Country Club, but there won't be any local pros competing for the J150.000 in prize money.

Stan Mosel of Essex Fells put together rounds of 68 69 137 to lead 70 New Jersey pros at Deal Golf Country Club in the T'Bird qualifying yesterday. Ron Howell of Green Brook, Bill Parker of Crestmont, Al Neider-litz of Springdale, Len Morris of Cream Ridge, and Phil Krick'of Battleground also qualified. Pat Schwab of Crestmont and Babe Lichardus of Hollywood also played and shot well enough to make the grade. The scores: QUALIFIERS Joe Namath and three neia goals by Jim Turner. Paul Maguire of Buffalo ran a kickoff fumble by New York's Sol Brannen 12 yards for a touchdown in the opening period, and Hagood Clarke intercepted a pass by Turner in the third period and ran 40 -AP Photo Edey Ottor of Italy captured the first one of the day, winning the men's 110-meter hurdles in 13.9 seconds over Don Copeland of Los Angeles.

Ottoz surged forward with a burst of speed before the final two hurdles to edge the U. C. L. A. student, who was timed in 14 0 for the silver medsl.

Ottoz, who won the same event in the 1965 Budapest World Games, trailed Copeland most of the race. He passed him on the next-to-last hurdle. Bodo Tummler of Germany set a World Games record of 3:43.3 in the men's 1,500 meters finals, winning his country's fourth gold medal in the track and field competition. Runner-up Dave Bailey of Canada and third-place Gianni Del Buano of Italy also broke the old mark of set by T. Salinger of Czechoslovakia in 1961.

Bailey was timed in 3:43.5 and Del Buano in 3:44.0. Francesco Arese of Italy, Ray Haswell of Canada, and Lawrence Toogood of Australia took turns in leading the field of 10 athletes until the last lap. Tummler, the European champion, kept on the heels of the leaders throughout. In the final lap, Tummler zipped into the lead and broke the tape 1 meter ahead of Bailey. No Americans were entered in the event.

The United States beat South Korea, 92-63, for its fifth straight men's basketball victory. It was Korea's first defeat against four wins. The Americans led, 42-29, at halftime. Spain, Great Britain, Japan and the Netherlands collected gold medals in tennis. Spain won the men's doubles yardage.

Bob Boyd (40) finally made stop. Baltimore won the exhibition game, 23-17.
