To the first grain of sand was added another, and then another, and so on until these tiny particles had formed far-flung areas of fertile land. The same principle can be used to start a savings account and make it grow and our liberal dividends will speed that growth.

Milor, district superintendent, said work on the plens was rushed by Harold Gimeno, Santa Ana architect, to meet the tentative June date for calling bids on the two projects to cost between $250,000 and $300,000. The estimated cost is for eight classrooms and a kindergarten at the two sites, Merrill and Sycamore Avenues, in the South and Acacia and Etiwanda Avenues in the North. FLEXIBLE DATE Preliminary plans have been formally approved by the State division. Milor said calling of bids by the middle of June must be a flexible date, depending upon how quickly the working drawings can be approved by the State Division of Architecture and Schoolhouse planning. Plans on present expenditures also include furnishings at the North and South sites.

There have been no drastic changes in the plans since they were originally drawn up, Milor said. The schools are being planned for use by January, 1954, to ease critical overcrowding problems now encountered at the Elementary site at Second and Palm. TO EASE PROBLEM The Elementary program moved into double sessions at the opening of the fall term last September when the Board of Trutsees followed recommendations of engineers and inspectors and abandoned the primary building ruled to be unsafe against an earthquake. Programs of the 180 students slated to begin classes were re- i scheduled to the remaining three buildings causing a total of 20 double sessions. On November 25 voters approved iOOO school bond issue.
