DAILY NEWS Wednesday, September 2, 1987' XQ 14 are part of a citywide "fine-tuning of bus schedules." Northeastern Queens is next on the agenda for cutbacks, he said, because there is insufficient use of the present scheduled runs. Spigner said the bus routes affected serve four major Jamaica stations and the communities of Rosedale, South Ozone Park, Queens Village, Laurel-ton, Cambria Heights, St Albans and Hollis. "I don't believe the Transit Authority can be serious about implementing strategy of this magnitude," Spigner said in his letter. "I want them to reconsider this plan." Routes to be affected include the Q- 2, Jamaica Bus Terminal at 165th St to Hempstead Ave. at 225th Queens Village; Q-3A, Hillside Ave.

at Parsons Blvd. to Queens Village Station or 114th Ave. at 227th St; and Q-4, Hillside Ave. at 169th St to Linden Blvd. at 235th St Others are the Q-4A, Hillside Ave.

at 169th St to 238th St at 130th Cambria Heights; Q-5, Hillside Ave. at 169th St to Hook Creek Blvd. at Sunrise Highway, Rosedale; Q-5A, Hillside Ave. at 169th St to 243d St at 147th Rosedale; and Q-49, 168th St at Jamaica Ave. to 121st St at Jamaica Ave.

In addition, the TA has plans to combine the Q-5A route with that of the Q-5AB, which operates between Jamaica and Rochdale, to form a new route, Q-85, with reduced service on Merrick Blvd. It also plans to discontinue a shuttle service in Laurelton because of low ridership. The Q-3, which operates from Jamaica to Farmers Blvd. at Rockaway is expected to extend its run to Kennedy Airport and increase its service to 20 hours a day seven days a week from six hours. A public hearing on many of these changes is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m.

Sept 10 in the Rochdale Village Community Center, 169-65 137th Ave. Councilman Archie Spigner yesterday blasted the Transit Authority's planned bus-service reductions for residents in southeastern Queens, slated to become effective on Sept 13, as "ill-advised and counterproductive." In a letter to TA President David L. Gunn, Spigner protested that the cutbacks "would not only greatly inconvenience the residents of southeastern Queens but also would force more and more people to use the vans and private cars that are now undercutting our mass-transit system." A spokesman for the TA, Dario Cen-torcelli, said the planned reductions 1 1 BOB yi mm irtf riiiiiTriiifniwirii MriHiii 5 YEAR FIXED RATE CD (a) Current Rat MINIMUM $1,000 5 YEAR ADJUSTABLE RATE CD WE'VE GOT THE TERM YOU WANT!
