On his way home from work, W. B. McDonald, of 1758 West Seventh street, picked up the hitch-hiker, who said he was en route east and was without funds. McDonald gave the youth a place to sleep for the night, and Mrs. McDonald gave him breakfast the next morning.

McDonald then took him to Mt. Vernon avenue, to watch for a ride. A short time later Mrs. McDonald discovered that her wrist watch was missing. She told police she wanted only the return of her watch, and was not desirous of prosecuting the hiker.
