438 Court St. Ph. 201-83 WASHINGTON Merry-Co-Round (Continued from Page Thirteen) of Britain, In fact, the entir cabinet inclines toward the Fascist point of view, beginning with Marshal Petain, who was onca picked as ambassador to Fascist Spain because of his sympathies. M. Chiappe, who now governs Paris, was formerly chief of police, with avowed Fascist tendencies.

Confidential dispatches report that both Marshal Petain and General Weygand have been on the verge of collapse. Weygand, who is 76 years old, was unable to stand up under the terrific physical strain of the French retreat. Marshal Petain, who is 84, has been what the French call "Raga" for some years, but stood the strain perhaps better than Weygand. Neither, however, has any real voice in the cabinet, which is dominated by Laval. He is the famous premier who visited Washington in 1931 to discuss war debts with Hoover.

Undoubtedly the weakness of the French cabinet is a reason for the flood of messages pouring in from Frenchmen all over the world refusing to recognize the Bordeaux government. Mine Owners Warned Of ecording Date Mine owners must file proof of labor by noon Monday if they expect to retain title for another year, County Recorder Ted R. Carpenter said yesterday. However, if the assessment work has been started by Monday, claim holders have 30 days in which to record the proof of labor. Each year, holders of mining claims must do work totaling $100 on each claim and record a proof of labor in the county in which the property is located.
