Golfing Diagnosis Offered by Hagen (By Associated Press) LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7. Walter Hagen, outshooting Father Time for more than a decade, has stopped long enough to make a diagnosis of the ills of golfs younger generation.

They are a fine lot of fellows," said the hardy veteran. "They eat, sleep and live golf. They never In as the saying goes, and they practice hour after hour. Yet they don't seem to reach the peak that these efforts deserve. "There may be several reasons for this, but I believe the biggest single mistake is that they build their games around themselves in stead of developing the games to fit any golf course.

Tm disappointed in them. If I could spare 60 days to train in a quiet spot, I think I could show them up." Hagen will match strokes with many of the younger set in the $5,000 Los Angeles open, starting Friday. SIGNS CONTRACT CHICAGO, Jan .7.
