Mexico 1 Soccer Canada 1, Cuba 1 Bermuda 7, U.S. 3 Field Hockey Jamaica 0. Bermuda 0 United States 2. Mexico 1 By ARV OLSON Last week Dr. George Bigelow, the old master par-shooter, stroked himself into a Canadian gallery reserved for golf champions.

Tuesday the good doctor from Victoria Golf Club started sketching another piece of award-winning art, this time in the B.C. Seniors' Tournament. His two-over 74 wasn't exactly a masterpiece in the qualifying round of the annual championship event for golfers 55 and over. But Dr. Bigelow, who won last week's Canadian Seniors in Halifax, and the 149 other entrants had a rather difficult subject to work with Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club's course.

Dr. Bigelow, long revered in any league of golfers, took the medal honors by three strokes over Clary Kyle of Point Grey. Kyle's 40-3777 included a triple-bogey seven on the fourth hole and a double-bogey six at 10. Dr. Bigelow, 57 and playing in his first B.C.

Seniors, was out in 35 after birdies at the eighth and ninth holes but came in with 39. Tied for third at 79 were Andy Morgan of Peace Portal and Frank Cotton, a 10-handicapper from Vancouver Club whose 69 took net honors. Low eight qualified for play in the grand championship flight, which started today. Semi-finals go Thursday and the final on Friday. Other qualifiers were Point Grey's Harold Epps, 80; and three 81 shooters Steve Brynjolfson of Powell River, Art Johnson of the host course and Eddy Hill of Quilchena.
