THE VERMONT JUNIOR 6 Order and it helps mightily to keep up the interest. The attention of the Brothers is directed to the announcement on page 5 touching the matter of the Junior Buttons. This is most important and "cannot pe kept open very long. It is a splendid opportunity for the membership to secure a beautiful gold front, screw back emblematic button, the kind that would cost 75 cents at the jewelry store, and here you get it about free. We send you the JL'NIOH and a button (while they last) for 3 5 cents.

This is 2 5 cents for the paper and ten cents for postage and packing the button. If you are requiring a button, take our word for it, this is the exact and official button that you want, the quality is fit for the best. Don't delav a minute. Send us the 35 cents while you nave it in mind. itiation for the smaller country Councils which find the three degrees and necessary paraphernalia a little toe elaborate for a successful presentation of the work.

It. has been our privilege to witness the three degrees conferred in full form with all the necessary para-pernalia, and we gladly give our testimony as to its impressiveness and the placing of our Order in the same class with other fraternal Orders on a ritualistic basis. One thing accomplished, is the bringing into the work more members of the Council, and largely of the younger element who will take pride in filling the several places in the three degrees on the team. Those of us who learned the old ritual so that we could repeat it verbatim are perfectly willing to stand aside and allow the "young blood'' to do the work. But it ill becomes us to get sour because we are no longer "it," and knock the ritual instead of learning it if we expect to continue to take an active part in the work.

When all is said, the new ritual has come to stay, and while there may be minor changes from time to time, this great work of Brother far superior to anything the Order has ever had in the way of a ritual. The truth is, we are all but forced to the conclusion, that its very superiority in every particular over its predecessor is its chief cause of offense We are free to admit, that had we been in position to effectively suggest there are some things we should have insisted on in the way of changes both in the floor work charges. But we also freely admit that such changes would doubtless have met greater opposition than the original. Certain it is, that the mar who conceived and worked out the whole plan was far the better judge of just what should go vo make up the new ritual. When the National Council convenes next month the new ritual will have been on trial for about a year and the membership will have had a practical demonstration of its possibilities.

That there will be some minor changes to meet the requirements of the Councils we have no doubt. One thing, we believe, will appeal to the National Council, and that is, the necessity of a 'short form" in Watch for the next issue. There will be a full report of the National Session and an account of our babe at the Orphans' Home, Master Frank A. Walcott, of Glover. All our readers will be interested to know how this little one is getting along out at the Home.

The attention of the various councils is called to the Council Directory on page 7. It is proposed to publish the CARDS of the councils for a year and send a bundle of five copies of each issue to the Recording Secretary to give to sick and poor Brothers, all for $1.00. This offer will hold good only until the next issue of the JUNIOR. This is only 2 0 cents a year for the paper, five to one address, and the council card printed free. Take this up at the next Council meeting and send us your dollar.

Don't delay until it is too late. GOD GIVE US MEN. God give us men! A time like this demands Strong minds, great hearts, true faith and ready hands; Men whom the lust of office does not kill; Men whom the spoils of office cannot buy; Men who possess opinions and a will; Men who have honor; men who will not lie; Men who can stand before a demagogue And damn his treacherous flatteries without winking; Tall men, sun-crowned, who live above the fog In public duty and in private thinking. For while the rabble, with their thumb-worn creeds Their large professions and their little deeds, Mingle in selfish strife, lo! Freedom weeps, Wrong rules the land, and waiting justice sleeps. Dr.

While the weather is hot let us all observe our obligation and don't knock the ritual. Boosters are thought more of than knockers. We are delighted to see that Brother Fast National Councilor Faison has so far regained his Health as to be able to take up again actively the work of the American. Brother Faison has been in very poor health for a long time and it will be a source of pleasure to all to see him back at his desk again.
