The idea of a trip to our shores seems to find immediate favor with the New Zealanders, judging from the reply received by Capt. Brown. EAGERLY HOPING The Great War put a stop to athletics In general in New Zealand, like It did In all other countries. All the boys joined up and served their country overseas. When peace was signed and their services were no longer needed, they were demobilized.

The old love for the game came back to them and rugby began to come back to its old standard of Before the war. Many good leagues were organized and the boys became as good as they ever were In the game. They have heard so much about the way the game is played on this side, so, consequently, they look forward eagerly to any plan that would give them a trip to this part of the world. The spell was broken when Jack Walker got away and took a shot at Lehman, who turned It Into the corner. With Seattle carrying the fight every Inch of the way, Eiley worked the puck through the local defence and attempted to score. Lehman was forced to come out to save and he did, but the rubber rebounded and Tobln acquired the easiest goal of the night. Walker, Foyston and Tobln were hitting their stride and created many dangerous situations, but their efforts were repeatedly stopped by the local defence. Lehman was picking them out of the air and off tho Ice with uncanny precision.
