Tilley Leads Indian Victory By GAVLEN DlJSKEY Register Sporli Editor "They went to (Rudolph) Tilley when the going got tough," Shady Spring coach Willie Joe Chandler said, "and he came through for them." Oeeana senior guard Rudolph Tilley scored a game high 29 points Tuesday night, including 12 in an all- crucial fourth quarter, to lead the Indians to a cliff- hanging, 76-73, victory over Shady Spring.

Tilley, who has been an All-Wyoming County selection for the past couple of seasons, came through under pressure as he brought with three baskets and six clutch free throws. "He was a pressure player," Chandler said, "still I feel that we could have won the game. We missed a few crucial shots and Oceana-especially Tilley--made all its shots." Shady Spring battled back from a halftime deficit to move ahead midway through the final period and with 3:01 remaining took a 71-66 lead on a basket by guard Ronnie Meadows. However, Oeeana took over then and held the Tigers, 1-3, to two points the remainder of the game while scoring 10. Tilley sank a pair of foul shots'and drove the baseline for another basket to the Indians within one, 71-70, with slightly over two minutes remaining.

He then gave the Indians the lead with two more foul shots at the 1:53 mark. "His shooting in the fourth quarter killed us," Chandler admitted, "especially during the last three minutes. He could hit everything and we couldn't buy a basket." After exchanging scores Tilley drove for a layup that 'iced' the game with :.28 remaining. "Tilley was calm under pressure," Chandler said "I wish 1 had a guard like him. He's a good one." Chandler has now watched his team drop two games by a combined score of five points (the other loss was a 94-55 slaughter at the hands Woodrow Wilson) this season and he feels that they'll soon start going his way.
