17, at 7:30 p. m. Friends Build New House Quickly For Burned Out Family TERRE HAUTE. Dac. 2 and Mrs.

William Wilbur, whose baby daught-er when their home burned down, inspected their new four-room house today and said they never could thank the kindly townfolk who put up the money and labor to build it. There was much work still to be done, but already the green-roofed house looked like home to the Wilburs and their two surviving children, Billy, 4, and Marie, 6. "It's a miracle," Wilbur said as he and his family watched carpenters put the finishing touches on the exterior yesterday. Lathers and plasterers were to begin work on the interior today. The still must be surfaced, the furnace connected and the" bathroom fixtures installed.

Work was begun Saturday when 325 carpenters and laborers, representing half the city's construction workers, put up the framework and finished most of the exterior in the 10 hours between dawn and dusk. Th-e work is being done without pay. The building materials were bought with contributions from sympathetic residents, and the tiny lot on which the house rests was donated. The nbw house is next door to the old one, which burned down Nov. 9 while Tarre Haute firemen stationed only 10 blocks away let it burn under orders not to answer calls outside city limits.

Wilbur, a hotel bellhop, still is recuperating from burns suffered in a futile effort to save his 21- month-old daughter, Mary Ann, HARRV S. DAWSON NORWALK, Dec. 2 Funeral services for Harry S.
