There Is very little political excitement here. The town is strongly Republican and will give a large Republican majority at the State election ana for Grant and Collar in November. Many of the village residents are complaining ot the loss of their early fruit, through the lawlessness and thieving propensities of some of the village boys. There is some talk among those who have suffered of trying the force and strength of our laws in such cases. Rev.

Wsrdiktn. BOCTH WABDSBOBO. August. The village district had a meeting last week to see about having a High School this FalL A school is expected. The weather for a few days has been very unfavorable for haying, and getting in grain.

Tbe hay crop will be good in this vicinity. We shall have the best crop of apples this Fall that we have had for five years; but very few pears and no peaches. and does, everything he claims. He has already broken several horses in this vicinity of vicious habits, rendering them as docile and tractable as lambs. He certainly possesses a power over, and understands the horse.

We know of several gentlemen in this place, men who know considerable about horses too, who have paid their money to Prof. Hamilton and don't begrudge it. We certainly would not be without what we learned concerning the horse for the small sum of $3,00, which Is all tne Professor asks to teach any individual his theory. This, Wednesday, evening be will give an entertainment at the Town Hall consisting of au expose of several tricks in "magic" and a lecture upon the horse and the theory of taming and training them. To know how the feats performed by "magicians" are done is a passion with almost everybody.

Mr. Farns worth had been in low spirits for some weeks we presume, to his manly endeavors to fight off and conquer hit appetite for liqucr, the drinking of which, to excest at timet, had been, as be has oltei frankly acknowledged to us, the bane of bis li e. The depressed state of mind caused by his tola! abstinence from stimulants, together with the dullness of bis business of late, were the undoubted causes ot his rash act. Mr. Farnswortb was oue of the most original and brilliant men in conversation we ever listened to.

His ideas, and method of expressing tbem were peculiarly his own. He was a most accomplished and ready penman, and has for years been well known in the States of New Massachusetts and Vermont as one of the most excellent and thorough teacheit of tbat art in New England. He held the position of Professor of Penmanship and Book Keeping in the schools of Lowell, Mass. for a number of years, where be has many friends wbo will be grieved to hear of hit death. Mr.

Farnswortb was a generous man, opeu-hearted and forgiving, doing wrong often, at all of us do, but always manfully acknowledging his faults, at lew of ut are ever known to do, and it it bard indeed to leel tbat one to gifted, to gen weeks.
