First Story Hour On Saturday Junior Department of the Club will begin the Story Hour Saturday, ac- to the Department Mrs. Arnold C. Burke, and her library chairman, Mrs. H. "WMtiey Perkins.

The Junior Club.has spearheaded a children's" reading hour at Raleigh County Public Library for the'past several years, at least a bi-monthly reading period. Last year they were joined by the General" Club, which under their Youth Committee co-chairman, Mrs. Robert L. Aenick, furnished readers for two Saturdays, making the program a weekly event; The reading hour was discontinued early' last Spring when the remodeling program "began at the Library. MRS.

PERKINS stated, "We have changed the name' of the program from the Reading "Hour to the Story Hour since several persons seemed to confuse it with class to assist the child with his reading problems." She on to say that her Department will have readers the next three" Saturdays after which the Gen. eral Club will furnish readers for the-same period of-time. After the Hairston Sparacino advised Judge Allison Smith, scheduled to be tried for murdering his wife last June, was in need of treatment. McCreery said the court had heard that there was a question about Smith's mental fitness. McCreery said he will two physicians to pass on Smith's condition. He also was charged by State Police with failure to report an accident and was assessed a fine of $10 and costs. Gray is charged in the death of his 18-year-old sister, Mrs. Margaret Ann Gunther, Prosperity, who fell from the fender of the car he was driving and received injuries which were -fatal. Jean Biard, all of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Mercedes Bragg, Dearfield Beach, 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at the Webb and Neal Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Everett 'Shafer officiating.

Cole Rites Set On Saturday Ex-Bcckleyan Killed In Automobile Accident The body 4f a former Beckey resident, Lawrence Gilkerson, New Bremen, Ohio, will be returned here for services, it is reported.

Gilkerson, 25, died in an Ohio hospital Wednesday a few ipurs after, he lost control of lis car and it struck tree. The accident occurred on Ohio a mile north of nearby Minster. Funeral services for Emmett Basil Cole, 51, Stanaford, who died Wednesday morning at his home, will be conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday in the Webb and Neal Funeral- Home Chapel.

Burial will be in the Stanaford Cemetery. Cole was a salesman for the Snap-on-Tool Company. He had previously worked several years for the New River Company at Stanaford. Cole was born at "Lanark on 10, 1908. Survivors include his mother, VErs, Mary Ellen; Cole of Stanaford; his wifey'Mrs.

Cole at home; two brothers, Emerson of Crab Orchard and Buren' of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Violet Harrah of Amarillo, Texas; two sons, Jimmy of Los Angeles, "and of five daughters, Mrs Rosemary Shank, Mrs. King, and Mrs. Margaret; Miller all of Modesto, and Phyllis and -Drema Cole, both at home; and eight grandchildren. The body will remain at the fu neral home.
