River Dell was unbeaten during the regular season. Saturday morning it disposed of Ridccwood, 21, with the Oehrlein brothers, Rich and Walt, providing the winning margin with victories over Tucker Wolf and Steve Caldwell in the singles. Then on Saturday afternoon I'nion disposed of Teaneck for the championship. Again it was the Oehrlein boys who triumphed, Rirh downing Bud Fink. 6-0, 6-3, and Walt beating Barry Siegel, 6-0, 6-1.

Teancek'a doubles combo of Jeff Lehman and Bob Older kept their record clean by scoring their fifth straight win of the tournament. They bowled over Al Brenner and Ewald Paul, 61, 62. Ridgewood'a semifinal loss does not mar the school amazing regular-season victory string, which has reached 119. Otis Grendler's Maroons had won the State title 5 of the las! 7 years and were top-seeded in this year's event. Ridgewnnd topped Snyder, 3 0, to gain third place.

Northern Valley held a 13-9 lead over Englewood, To win the meet Englewood had to finish first in the race and N. V. had to be shutout. That's just what happened as a team of Marion Brevard, Ed Barksdale, Ray Du Pree. and Bob Johnsou won for the Maroon in 3:48 3.

Englewood's other win was in the distance medley. This time it was strictly a great anchor mile leg by Maurice Ilobson that gave the Maroon five points. Ilobson trailed by 50 yards at the start of his leg, but narrowed the gap to 10 yards with a 59-second first quarter. He covered the half mile in 2 08, and was leading Northern Valley's Jack Kinane by 10 yards at the three-quarter mark. He ran a slow final quarter but still won the race by 4 yards over Bergen Catholic.

Ilobson' time was 4:38.3 and the team's clocking was 11:13.5. The meet's only double winners were the Northern Valley quartet of Hal Cornev. John Maxson, Howie Franklin, and Roger Caruso. They took the 440 and 830 relays in 411 seconds and 1 38 8 A 2:02 half-mile anchor leg by Noel Bing helped Tenafly to a 8.30 8 win in the 2 mile relay. NORTH AND SOUTH UCROSSERS MEET Baltimore.
