Sumner Spaulding, Now on Board of National Organization, Speaks The San Bernardino T.W.CA, elected nine new members to the board of directors at the associa tion's annual meeting, held in the clubhouse at 580 Sixth street. Principal speaker at the session was Mrs. Sumner Spalding of Bev erly Hills, member of the national Y.W.C.A. board of directors and a representative on the program committee and pest-president of the Los Angeles Y.W.C.A. She is now chairman of the Los Angeles unit's finance committee and U.S.O.

committee. Those elected to the board of directors for the next three years were Mesdames S. O. Ferguson, H. R.

Griffin, Carl M. Hadley, Mary Heard, William S. Hellyer, DeWitt Nelson, Darrell R. Meek, A. M.

Election of the board's staff of officers for 1942-43 will be held at a Motorists Fined For Intoxication Three motorists, one of whom literally made a race track of Sierra way, paid fines totaling $200 in the city police court when they appeared before Police Judge Donald E. Van Luven on charges of driving while intoxicated. Russell Lee Kerrick, 39, of Camp Waterman, arrested after residents complained that he drove at high speeds along Sierra way in the early morning hours, was sentenced by Judge Van Luven to pay $50. Police arrested Kerrick on May 13 at Thirty-eighth street and Sierra way.

They said that on May 8 a police car chased Kerrick from Tenth and Sierra way to the Arrowhead arch, but Kerrick escaped. On that occasion he drove as fast as 84 miles per hour at one time, police declared. H. N. McGarvey, 38, of 534 Magnolia avenue, was sentenced to pay a $100 fine.

He was arrested earlier in the week at Third and streets. The third motorist sentenced by the police court magistrate was Wallace L. Burton, 35, of 630H East Fourth street, who paid a $50 fine. He was arrested at Third and streets. SAN BERNARDINO DAILY SUN.
