Yes, Mr. Sullivan has a man in view who wishes to secure a home far away from the bustle and confusion of a large city, where he can spend his declining years in peace and quietness, the property being not so much of an object as the location. Win. jJloxom, of the Liberty Review, and Charlton of the Elk City Eagle, as usual, went oil! "halt cocked" on Tuesday morning last, under the inlliienne of the impending excitement which they were expecting to encounter upon the occasion of laying the corner stone of our new court house, and forgot to bring copies of their papers to put in the little box. They were supplied with the necessary articles by calling at this ollice.

Last Tuesday, the day fixed upon.for laying the coi ner stone of our new court house was a delightful day neither too warm nor too cold for the complete comfort of those who came to witness this important event in the history of Montgomery county. All petty grieve-aiices existing between Indepehdeiice and her sister cities were put aside on this occasion and the people all over the county joined in the exercises with a heartiness characteristic of the people of Kansas. When the people of Sunny Kansas, and especially of Montgomery county, take hold of anything its success Is assured and this was no exception to the general rule. While in town our country friends Improved the opportunity to "kill two birds with one stone'" by laying in a supply of necessaries for winter use, and our merchants generally were kept pretty busy. Indeed, we heard one merchant say that Ids store was crowded all day.

Promptly at ten o'clock, as announced by the programme, the procession which did honor to the occasion formed in line at the old county building under the inaisliiilship of Gen. W. R. Drown, which proceeding occupied about an hour's time, and as filed in the Inlawing ordei G. A.

Inquiries from all portions of the country, and especially from States where prohibition exists, induce us to write this open letter in regard to our Piiosi'iiatic Lemon Kyk, for information to the public in general as well as to the drug trade.

We find these inquiries of two varieties. By parties who look upon our manufacture as a means by which the prohibition law might be violated under the disguii-e of a patent medicinal preparation, and we judge from the tone of their letters, it would be a welcome factor to them. Others again, especially druggists, express as the cause of their timidity, to take hold of our goods, the same reason, to set both factions at rest, we inform the public, that our Pliosphateic Lemon Rye is one of the best, if not superior, to any medicinal tonic in the market, and have the pleasure of having it pronounced as such by the examining chemist, Dr. Kendell, of HARTZELL. liespcct Cully, will not be said in vain.
