L. Pomeroy, county health officer, expressing belief that the rapid spread of infantile paralysis has been checked, today took steps to insure that children stricken by the epidemic may not be permanently crippled. He conferred with Supervisor Roger Jesstip, asking for authority to employ six physiotherapists for one year who would give muscle and other treatments to litle victims of the disease as they are discharged from the hospitals. Elwood prosecuted John Hill, a grocer, for cruelty to a pony it made the one thousand and thirteenth equine he had befriended in court. Elwood has been on the London force for 20 years.
