Saturday Evening, November 6, 1954 BRISTOL COURIER LEVITTOWN TIMES GUIDE TO TELEVISION ENJOYMENT FIRST STARS ANNOUNCED FOR CEREBRAL PALSY TELETHON PHILADELPHIA, Nov. fi Warren Hull, star of It on CBS-TV, and Hayes, now on on NBC-TV are he first stars announced to appear at the Fourth Annual Cerebral Palsy Telethon on Channel 6, November 27 and 28. Steck and George Lewis, of oo-chairman of the telethon alrut committee, disclosed that many other top network stars are being contacted to help swell the ranks of entertainers for the event. This will be the third Cerebral Palsy Telethon appearance for arren Hull in behalf of UCPA in the Philadelphia area. This veteran entertainer has made many dramatic appeals on behalf of the cerebral palsied on other telethons throughout the country.

In Philadelphia his easy, informal interviews with Cerebral Palsied adults and children have helped to gather -a considerable amount in pledges to the past telethons. Gabby Hayes, veteran Westernj Star of the movies and TV. appeared last year on the UCP telethon, and his enthusiasm and appeals were among the high spots of the event. Especially popular with the youngsters, Gabby stayed through every minute of the sixteen hour telethon in 1953. Displaying his famous hardy frontier spirit.

Gabby gathered funds on stage, and then moved into the audience at intervals at collect additional funds from' those present. At Convention Hall, site of the; 19S4 Fourth Annual Cerebral Palsy Telethon, these two stars will be joined by other equally famous luminaries in an all-out sixteen hour drive. The telethon will get; under way at 10 p.m., Saturday, November 27. and will continue until 2 p.m., Sunday, November 28 1 As in past years, the public is; cordially invited to attend the telethon and to see the actural telecast: of the show. This year at Convent-j ion Hall increased seating capacity will permit even more viewers than; ever before to attend and take part in the telethon.

FRED WARING AND BAND ON ELECTRIC Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians make their first of four appearances this season on the Electric series Sunday, Nov. 7 (CBS Television, p.m., EST.) For his introductory show, Waring will use an autumn season theme, incorporating such colorful production numbers as a hayride, a Halloween party, a college football game and a boy going off to college. Included in the program will be a tribute to Veterans Day, with musical numbers spanning the years between World War I and II.
