Sell it foster! Coll 225-1666 for the most effective wont od seftinn answer for weak kidneys Dear Dr. Thosteson: Is there a remedy for weak kidneys? I am 69 and quite a few people have told me this goes with age. When I lift anything heavy or laugh heartily I wet my underpants a little. Also if 1 am just standing ironing, I can have the same reaction. Is there anything a person can take for this? N.P.

Your Health By George C. Thosteson. l). The only thing you can for it is some good advice. by the way is not the right term for this trouble.

Actually it is a matter of poor muscle control of the bladder not the kidneys at all and that can come along with age. One thing you should do is have your doctor check to see whether you have a cystocele, which is a relaxation of support of the bladder that in turn puts more burden on the bladder control muscles. Cystocele is seen fairly frequently in women who have had several children. Sometimes a pessary will give sufficient support. But should surgery be necessary, it is not a fearsome type of surgery, so don't fight shy of it if you need it.

Another thing you can do in this situation is strengthen the bladder muscles by exercise contract your muscles as though trying to stop urination. It takes some time, but you can tone up those muscles. Another simple but helpful trick is to get in the habit of urinating a bit more frequently. That will take some of the pressure off the bladder. A final tip well worth keeping in mind; this type of dribbling can also be a symptom of diabetes.

Get yourself tested for that. Worried man i Dear Dr. Thosteson; Ten weeks ago I ejaculated bright red 5 blood and semen. I am 55. Eight weeks ago I had a wet dream and left blood stains.

Six weeks ago I went to a urologist and he told me he did not understand my condition and we should wait for a time. He said he had seen this only once or twice in his experience. There is no blood in my urine. have no pain or discomfort. I did not have a cystoscope because 1 feel that my doctor is only playing around and does not understand what is wrong with me.

Would you shed some light on this? K.S. Blood the ejaculate is usually harmless, however alarming it may be to the patient. However, it is not common. A urologic examination (by cystoscope) is in order, to determine the state of the prostate gland and blood vessels in the urinary tract, as well as the kidneys themselves. You appear to have much confidence in your urologist.

In that case, have your personal physician refer you to another but it sounds to me as though you refused a cystoscopic examination on grounds that the urologist undertake to diagnose your case BEFORE examining you. That doesn't sound reasonable to me. How to get rid of leg cramps and foot pains? The answer may be simple write to Dr. Thosteson in care of the San Antonio Express for a copy of his booklet, to Stop Leg Cramps and Foot Enclose a long, addressed, stamped envelope and 25 cents. The Aces SAN ANTONIO December 10 1974 Page 11 -A i TUESDAY, December 10, 1974 Reaching a grand slam in the right trump suit can be good fun.

Reaching a grand slam in the wrong trump suit can be even more fun but only if you make it. grand slam deal was played in a match between Sweden and Finland and was first reported by ERic of Sweden. The Finns wound up in the wrong grand slam after a bidding lapse but good play and wrong opening iead made the story worth repeating. The bidding was artificial with two heart response showing an ace and a king and response of two no-trump promising 23-24 points and a balanced jump to four hearts was a transfer bid to spades. South wanted North to bid spades to take advantage of the lead riding up to the North hand.

Well, like every other mortal bridge player, North suffered a blind spot and forgot about transfers, South had good $Urts and he bid the heart slam. West led the spade nine and c3he dummy gave South quite a surprise. Here he was ing a grand slam ith only six trumps! But why give up might as well play the hand but and hope for good things to happen. South won the spade king and cashed two high diamonds and ruffed a diamond. Three high clubs survived and the play took on more interest.

A spade was led to the ace and a low spade led. West ruffed with 10 to prevent a ruff with seven, and dummy overruffed with the king. A club was ruffed with the heart jack and another spade led. This time West ruffed low (nothing would help) and dummy ruffed with the seven. When this held, declarer drew a deep breath and claimed the last two tricks, scoring the heart queen and heart ace on a crossruff.

A very unusual hand. Seven clubs would have been much 2a Bridge By Ira G. If West had led a trump instead of the spade nine, the slam would havej had not chance and the main point of interest might have been whether North and South would have continued to play transfer bids. There is a good fit in both majors and unless the opponents can cash four quick tricks (very unlikely), the game should make. Send bridge questions to The Aces, P.O.
