HUMPHRIES, Thomas William May 14, 1945 August 9, 2018 I wanted to let all of my friends and acquaintances know that I passed away peacefully, after a challenging three-and-a-half-year journey with pancreatic cancer. Manyof you knew measHumper, Hump, Big Bill, Grande Bill, and of course Papa to my grandkids.

I am survived by my incredible wife of 48 years -Joan, my "over to top amazing" kids: Lisa, Todd and Michelle, my son and daughter-in-law: TMacand Raian, and my "big time awesome" grandkids: Zayna, Tymor, Lai la, Tavia and Will liam. Also, my sisters Janet Foot (husband Bev), Carol Guerdon, and my sister-in-law Corrine Robinson. I turned 73 on May 14th 2018. What an incredible ride my life was personally, professionally, entrepreneurial and, of course, my unforgettable global travel adventures! Over the past 10 years or so, Joan and I have enjoyed our increased active participation in philanthropic endeavours with charitable and sports organizations. To experience the joy of helping others, from both the recipients and ourselves, has really been special! My professional and entrepreneurial career spanned close to 50 years professional practice, business purchases, real estate development.

I was recognized by my fellow CA's with a Fellowship in the Institute, following in my Grandfathers footsteps (1956). What an honour and privilege for me. To my GP in Wilson Creek, Dr. Simon Resnik and the team at Lions Gate Hospital, including: surgeons, infectious disease specialists, and chemo nurses at the Oncology clinic, I cannot thank you enough. Finally, my Oncologist, DrSasha Smiljanic, who kept me alive with a decent "quality of life" three years longer than predicted, I am very grateful! Sasha, We beat that stage 4 diagnosis from February 2015 in spades! I cannot put into words the love and respect given and received by my family, friends, fellow professionals, partners and staff.

Thank you all for helping me live the best life I could have hoped for. Finally, if youwould like to make a donation, I would appreciate you sending it to The Joan and Bill Humphries Endowment, payable to the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation HIGHET, Marlene (nee Ferrier) March 2, 1938 August 15, 2018 We are deeply saddened to announce Marlene passed away on Wednesday, August 15 from pancreatic cancer. She will be lovingly remembered and missed always by her loving and devoted husband Peter, daughters Kathy (Dennis), Karen (Bruce), Joanne (Dave), grandchildren Shane, Tyrell, Justin (Cassie), Devon, sister Lauretta, and many dear friends, family and penfriends around the world. Her first husband, Bill Goodridge, predeceased her in 1998. Marlene will be remembered as kind, caring and gracious and she made a difference in many lives.

She always treated others the way she wanted to be treated. Marlene grew up in Vancouver's Grandview district and attended Laura Secord Elementary and Britannia High School. She enjoyed six years working as a school secretary at Renfrew, Sir James Douglas and Laura Secord schools. Later on Marlene worked for ten years at Simon Fraser University, first in the Audio VisualIMC department and then the UniversityIndustry Liaison office. Marlene loved living in Ranch Park in Coquitlam while her three girls were growing up and had many fond memories of those early years.

She moved back to Vancouver later on and she and Peter lived for many years in the False Creek area enjoying all the city had to offer. In 2009 Marlene and Peter moved to Garrison Crossing in Chilliwack and liked the slower pace of a smaller town and being closer to nature. After retiring early from the university, Marlene broadened her horizons and had many new interests. She became involved in a variety of art projects, joined International Penfriends and wrote to penpals all over the world, took gourmet cooking lessons and loved sharing her new skills with friends and family. She now also had more time to spend on gardening which she had always loved.

Marlene joined a choir, became involved with volunteering and especially enjoyed Art Rental at the Vancouver Art Gallery. She became more involved with writing projects and one of these was Vancouver's millennium project, Portrait v2k, and she played a prominent part in it. Her latest writing project was to finally write her memoir of growing up in the 1940's and '50's in Vancouver. What she enjoyed most of all though was spending time with her family and friends. Marlene and Peter enjoyed travelling and had several wonderful trips to Hawaii, California and the Oregon Coast and their many "short poppers" to the Okanagan, Vancouver Island and Washington state.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. A special thank you to Dr. Zulfiqar and his team at the Abbotsford Cancer Center, Dr. Hamilton and the Chilliwack Home Health team and the caring staff at the Cascade Hospice. After retirement he and Bonnie enjoyed the pleasures of traveling by cruise ship to many parts of the world.
