Watson Lucas, J. Wheeler Lynnes CHRISTENSEN Stanley Harold Stan passed away Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Chinook Hospice after a short but courageous battle with CJD. Born in Calgary on February 6, 1955, Stan leaves behind his wife and soulmate Krista, and his pride and joy, son Matthew. Stan will also be lovingly remembered by his Mother, Sylvia, and brothers and sisters: Janette (Murray) VanCise, Mark (Carole), Ed (Cathy) and Sherry (Paul) Orobko as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and especially lifelong friend Pete Jensen. Stan was predeceased by wife Candace (1992) and his father Harold (1984).

Stan followed tradition and worked many years with his family in the trucking industry. He very much enjoyed spending time and lending a hand on Krista family farm near Vulcan, especially driving the grain truck. Stan and Krista were proud members of the Calgary Camaro Club, enjoyed golfing, and spending time together at their summer retreat. Stan will forever be in our hearts and truly missed by all those who were lucky enough to have known him. Stan was 'the good The family would like to especially thank Dr.

Davenport, and his team, as well as the Neurology staff on Unit 111 at the Foothills Hospital for their compassion, care, and hard work on Stan's behalf. Max will be lovingly remembered by his children, Maureen of Calgary and Heather of HARMER Stellar (nee Medwed) 1921-2008 Stellar passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in her 87th year. She was predeceased by her husband, Cameron. Stellar will be greatly missed by her children: Lesly (Hedley), Estelle (Barrie), Michael (Inga), Guy (Hildy) and eight grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Bill Medwed, of Drayton Valley and her sister-irvlaw, Hilda Medwed, of St. Paul, Alberta.

Stellar was born to pioneering parents, Donna and William, in Chipman, LUCAS Iva Euretta December 14, 1920 December 10, 2008 Iva E. Lucas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2008. She was surrounded by her loving family daughter Darlene, and sons Dwayne and Dwight. Iva was born on the family farm near Colonsay, SK, on December 14, 1920. She had a great passion for animals, and loved the prairies.

She later attended business school in Saskatoon, and became a bank clerk. In 1943, she and Arthur Lucas were married in Mazenod, SK, and from there they lived in numerous places to the if'I rasa CROPPER Thomas Eric January 17, 1918- December 14, 2008 Eric Cropper passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, December 14, 2008. Eric will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elinor (Lyn) and by his sons, Simon (Mary) of Calgary, and Tony (Kelly) in Qatar; grandchildren, Lindsey, Melanie, Megan and Jennifer (Troy Woods); great-grandchildren, Rachel and Katie Woods; and his nephews, Richard Jones (Sue) of UK, John Jones V'sa (Marianne) of Ontario, and Peter Cropper of UK. Eric was predeceased i. Dy nis lainer, nussen, ins muuier, Frances, and his brother, Leslie.

Eric was born and raised in Manchester, England. He met and married his beautiful wife, Lyn, in Bangor, Wales, on October 18, 1947. At the outbreak of WWII, in 1939, Eric enlisted in the Royal Navy, serving in the North Atlantic, the South Pacific and the Mediterranean for which he was later awarded the Malta Medal. He served on the HMS Foresight, Tynedale, Glasgow, Challenger and the HMAS Quickmatch. Following the war, he was employed by the BBC.

Eric immigrated to Canada in 1961 to work on the Midanada Line for Marconi. Eric then took up employment with Kidd Creek Mines in Timmins, ON, where the family resided for the following twenty-eight years. In 1989 Eric and Lyn moved to Calgary, where Eric continued to enjoy his gardening and his love of music. Eric had a long musical career playing the piano professionally at the age of fifteen and continuing to play at any opportunity throughout his life. For the past twenty years, he entertained regularly at the Kerby Centre.

Throughout his life, Eric was active in the Masons, the Lions Club, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Burma Star. Eric was awarded the Golden Jubilee Medal on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his volunteer work and community service. EVANS Agnes Agnes Evans of Strathmore, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in the Strathmore Hospital on December 13, 2008, at the age of 91 years. Agnes will be lovingly remembered by her son, Bryan and daughter-in-law Bonnie, two granddaughters, Roxanne (Jason) McPherson, Stephanie (Mark) Brodie and five greatgrandchildren, Julian, Breanna, Abby, Toni-Lee and Charli. Stella met Cameron in Montreal just after the war. After a brief stint in Brandon, they settled in Calgary where they raised their four children. After numerous picnics in the foothills, west of Calgary, Stellar and Cameron fell in love with the Cochrane area. They built their retirement home at Westbrook, just north of Cochrane. After Cameron passed away, Stellar moved to Cochrane.

She was an avid gardener wherever she lived. She was always eager to share her plants with visitors to her garden. Many have flowers in their garden thanks to Stellar's green thumb. Stellar also liked to weave and while in Calgary was a member of the Alberta Weavers Guild. Funeral Services will be held at St.

Andrew's United Church (128 -1 Street East) in Cochrane on Saturday, December 20 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will be held in the Church hall following the Service. HUGHES (Tiny) September 28, 1917 December 16, 2008 A.R. (Tiny) Hughes passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 16 at the age of 91 years. Bert was born in Diamond City, Alberta and his youth was spent on the family farm. Tiny served overseas during World War II with the RCAF 410 Squadron; he was a Pilot Officer. He was involved in the wholesale automotive supply business throughout his working career and, together with his wife Lillian, owned and operated Totemobile Supply.

Tiny will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Beth Hughes; daughter Shelley Hughes; and sisternrHaw Norean Wilson. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian in 1990 and a son Brian in 1953. The family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at the CareWest Sarcee C3 program whose kind and professional care enabled Tiny to live at home. Agnes leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Connie Blair and Linda Lee (Roger) Gimby; and her son, Miles (Linda) Johnson; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Edna Michalovsky; her brother, Melvin (Jean) Muhly; and other extended family. Agnes was predeceased by her loving husband, Agnar in 1993; her sister, Louise Balazsi; and her son-in-law, Bill Blair. Agnes had an extraordinary ability to create beauty from little. Gourmet meals and baking were quickly served to all who entered her home.

Hand sewn, personally designed clothing for her daughters and many quilts for Lutheran World Relief fulfilled her desire to create beautiful things for others. As Agnes graciously welcomed all to her home, she will be welcomed to her heavenly home to meet again the family and friends who have gone before her. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Granum Lutheran Church, 204 Grey Street, Granum, Alberta, on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Fred W. Rink officiating.

085807 MclNTYRE Dorothy Beloved wife of the late Everett Mclntyre, passed away December 15, 2008 at Vulcan Continuing Care Centre at the age of 82 years. Loving mother of three sons Doug (Brenda), Les (Artha), Keith (Laura), seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Goldie Larkins, a brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Fiona and sorvinaw Glenn and her loving grandsons Jason and Eric Brown; her son Donald McNee as well as her nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Jane was predeceased by her sister Helen Brown and her son Gordon Machulik. Jane proudly celebrated a forty-two year nursing career which started with her training and graduation from the Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 1954. She moved from Scotland to Calgary in 1960 where she continued her career at the Baker Memorial Sanitorium in the Tuberculosis unit. She then moved to the Calgary General Hospital and worked in the emergency and acute care units.

Following this Jane spent seventeen years at the Alberta Children's Hospital and finally retired in 1996 after several wonderful years at the Scottish Nursing Home. Jane loved to travel, read and spend time with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Special thanks to Dr. Powell and the great staff at the High River Hospital, the wonderful staff at Foothills Home Services and Home Care.

The family is grateful for the gentle and compassionate care Mom received by all. She leaves behind her daughter and son-irvtaw, Jackie and Corey Wilcox, her daughter and son-irvlaw, Gloria and Larry Houghton, her son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Elaine Thompson and her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Dez Thompson. In her life, Kathleen thoroughly enjoyed her career with INGWestern Union where she made lifelong friends. Her gentle manner and unwavering generosity will be sorely missed by all whom she left behind. 1 1 i CRICHTON Alice Sophia Bowman Alice Sophia Bowman Crichton passed away December 15, 2008 at 93 years of age. Alice was predeceased by husband Andrew (Andy). She leaves behind her son Jim (Irene), daughter Mabel (Roy) and her loving grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian), Steven (Jacqueline), Mark (Pamela), Russell (Diane), Colin (Dione), Trent (Tammy) and twelve great-grandchildren. Alice was born in Scotland and in 1955 immigrated to Calgary with her daughter Mabel to join Andy and her son Jim. Her passions were spending time with family, dancing, camping and fishing with Andy.

She will always be remembered as a fun-loving grandma. There will be a private family Memorial Service. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Vidalyn Ancheta of Calgary, Marma Ancheta of Crestview, Florida, Jean Granados (Victor) of Ocoee, Florida; son Jerwin Ancheta (Jonalyn) of the Philippines; grandchildren Zaine Ancheta and Adrianna Granados; brothers Joe Butay of Germany and Robinson Butay of the Philippines. Clara was predeceased by her husband of forty-one years Vidal Ancheta. She will always be remembered by her family for teaching them how to be good people. Clara was a great teacher and friend who loved to work.

BASSEK -George Walter November 2, 1944 December 14, 2008 We mourn the loss of our father and friend George Walter Bassek, who passed away on December 14, 2008 at the age of 64 years.

George was born in Germany, moved to Edmonton as a youngster, and graduated from Bonnie Doon High School. After attending the University of Alberta and surveying across western Canada, he moved to southwest Calgary and started a family. He loved to talk about cars and to work on his ever evolving collection of vehicles. George loved music, gadgets, and reading everything he could get his hands on. We will greatly miss his wit, his guidance, and his vast knowledge of science, cars, and politics.

The loss will be forever felt by his daughters and sorvin-law, Quinn Bassek, Regan and Joel Klyn of Calgary; as well as his many friends in Canada, the United States, and extended family in Germany. He was predeceased by his brother Peter; and his parents Wolfgang and Dorothy. ffi iitfllii V-riSI BERGER -Astrid 1920-2008 Astrid Berger passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 16, 2008 at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her husband of forty-six years, Borger in 1995. Astrid is survived by her children John (Jean) Berger of Nanton and Karen (Steve) Reno of Calgary; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister in Norway and many nieces and nephews. Astrid was born in Jevnaker, Norway on June 30, 1920. She was married in Norway in 1949 and immigrated to Canada that same year.

Borger and Astrid loved their Canadian home enjoying farming, fishing, skiing, hunting, hiking and gardening. Astrid was active in the Nanton Parkland United Church for nearly sixty years. The most important part of her life was her family. She was always there for them. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 22 at 1:30 p.m.
