The revival of the popular CBS series (1957-1966) could lead to additional Mason TV films. Still to be cast later this week are the roles of a female district attorney and a private investigator, Paul Drake son iimffitr" iWT By GEORGE MAKSIAN Cable Tides nostalgia wave Nostalgia is king on cable TV, according to a study of viewer preferences by On Cable Magazine. The most popular cable shows include "The Andy Griffith the 1900s CHS sitcom being shown on Ti-d Turner's WTBS. which reaches most subscribers, and "Wagon Train," the NBC Western which made its tU'but in 1957 and is rerun by the CBN Network.

The study, based on interviews with executives of 21 cable networks, also found Dr. Ruth Westhclmer' "Good Sex'" talk show is the most watc hed show on the Lifetime cable network, while the Jim Henson Muppcts series, 1 "Fraggle Rock" is IIBO biggest hit. On MTV, the "Top 20 Video Countdow is the number one 6how, while the sitcom "Brothers," which has a homosexual theme, is the favorite with Showtime viewers. In a separate report, the Nielsen ratings firm reports 45 .3 of tJ S. homes had cable in May.

He'll face a tough female prosecutor, who replaces the character Hamilton Burger, played by the late William Talman. After the movie is completed late next month, Burr, now 68, will make a theatrical movie, reviving a role he played 30 years ago in "Godzilla 1985," a sequel to the 1954 horror film, "Godzilla, King of the Monsters." "Perry-Mason" was one of the most successful shows of its type.
