CHARLES S. DIETZ A Housing comeback? The sick housing industry is expected to improve in 1976, according to the Conference Board. Last year marked the worst year for housing since 1946. Only 1.2 million housing starts were recorded in 1975. 57 per cent less than the record set in 1972.

Rising interest rates, a shortage of long-term funds, escalating housing prices and falling real incomes have combines to stifle this key U.S. industry. Most forecasts now look for new housing starts to reach at least 1.5 million in 1976. PAT MORGART BRIDAL SHOP OF YORK, PA.
