Jack is survived by his children, Terrie (Gil), Rick and Glenn (Robyn); grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicole (Jeff) and Kathleen; great grandchildren, Tressa, Taylor, Emily and Alyssa; siblings, Morris, Madeline (Jack Ball) and June along with their children and grandchildren, his many friends and three dogs. Patrick was a long-time Toronto Maple Leafs fan and a wonderful grandpa. "When Irish eyes are smiling -041069 DIETRICH Kleon Erich 1935 2003 Kleon Erich Dietrich, beloved husband of Joan Dietrich of Calgary, passed away suddenly at the Foothills Medical Centre on Monday, December 22, 2003 at the age of 68 years.

The courageous choice to have another surgery resulted in an extended illness, resulting in his untimely death. Kleon was born on August 16, 1935 on the homestead near MacNutt, SK where he was raised. He later attended Concordia College in Edmonton. Kleon married Joan Lewis on December 21, 1956. Over the years he enjoyed a successful career in sales.

Forced into early retirement due to health issues, he and Joan enjoyed their 'Geritol gypsy days' travelling throughout the U.S.A. in their R.V. After settling in Calgary he enjoyed his independence motoring through the shops at Shawnessy on his scooter, he also thoroughly enjoyed Most his time spent at his grandchildren's sporting events. of all, his amazing courage and constant sense of humour kept us all going. Kleon is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Joan; two daughters, Cheryl (Bill) Tomanik, and Deanne Dietrich; and a son Don (Jackie); his beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Brad, Eric, Tim (Carolyn), Nicholas, Amber, Jenny, Gage, and Erik; his dearly loved brothers and sisters, Harvey (Elsie), Oswald (Joan), Doreen (Al) Rathgeber, Helmuth (Lorraine), Albin (Morag), Walter (Maxene), Arnold (Marnie), Frank (Cathy), and Esther (Gary) Davis; and seventy-one nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Adolf and Hedwig; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard Mack, Eleanor Dietrich, George, and Lynn Hunter. Honoured Provider of Dignity Louis Eadie passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Peter Lougheed Centre on December 24, 2003 at the age of 84 years. Lou is remembered by his wife of sixty-one years, Helen; as well as his five children, Jeanette, Betty, Wilfred, Linda and Danny. Lou will be sadly missed by his ten grandchildren and his greatgrandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister Beth (Tom). Lou was born on January 29, 1919 in Enderby, B.C. After retiring from the Army with thirty years of service, Lou found work with the Trans Canada Pipelines, and enjoyed being a greeter for Walmart until he retired at the age of eighty years. If friends of Dignity EVERETT Mary Margaret -040365 JANSSEN Edna May 1951 2003 Mary Margaret (nee Milner), born July 25, 1921, passed away peacefully December 22, 2003 in Vancouver at the Purdy Pavilion, UBC Hospital. Mary will be lovingly remembered by Bill, her husband of fifty-seven years; her brothers, Bud Milner (Calgary) and Bill Milner (Winnipeg); her children, Bill (Sue), David 1 (Holly), Margot (Ralph) and Peter (Georgina); and grandchildren, Katie, Sarah, James, Darcy, Liam, Jamie, Douglas, Geoffrey, Elisabeth, Mollie and Mac. Mary was predeceased by her third son Jamie.

Mary was born and raised in Winnipeg, graduating from the Winnipeg General Hospital as a registered nurse. Her nursing career included service in the Iron Lung Intensive Care Ward during the Winnipeg polio epidemic and later as a Nursing Sister R.C.N. at HMCS Stadacona in Halifax during World War II. After the war years, Mary continued her love of nursing at the Winnipeg Children's Hospital serving as a long-time Member of the Board of Directors and President of the Hospital. Mary was recognized for her many years of service with the Winnipeg Children's Hospital receiving the prestigious Teddy Award.

The family moved to Vancouver in 1967 where she served as a director of the BC Children's Hospital for eight years. Mary was a lifetime Honorary Member of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. While her family always came first, she enjoyed a very active social life with her many friends, always finding time for her golf, bridge and gardening. The family is appreciative and thankful for the love, care and support provided by Mary's loyal friend Dorothy Tam. The family also wishes to thank the staff of the fourth floor of the Purdy Pavilion for their professionalism and kindness during a difficult time.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, Jericho Clubhouse at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30. Edna May Janssen passed away peacefully at the Didsbury Hospital on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the age of 52, after a courageous battle with cancer. Edna was born on April 18, 1951 in Didsbury, Alberta.

Edna will be lovingly remembered by her husband Hans Janssen of Didsbury; her mother Mary Hooper of Didsbury; her sister Rita (Hugo) Schwandt of Didsbury; her brothers, Rob (Chris) Hooper of St. Walburg, SK, Dave (Annette) Hooper of Didsbury and Ralph (Virginia) Hooper of Calgary. She will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, stepdaughters, stepson and eight step children. Edna was predeceased by her father James Marshall Hooper. Joan leaves behind her husband of forty-seven years, Tom; her four daughters, Jennifer Richmond (Sherwood Park), Judith Asmundson (Saanichton), Shelagh Weston (Calgary), and Leslie Smyth (Pphom Penh); her sisters, Kath Crossley and Norah Wood, both of England; her two brothers, Dick Ives (New Zealand), and George Ives (England). She is predeceased by her two sisters, Pat and Molly. Her love extended to eight grandchildren, four sons-in-law, Brian, Blayne, Stephen and Tim, and many friends across Canada and England. The family wishes to express a very sincere and grateful thanks to Dr.

Born in Fullerton, North Dakota on February 12, 1917, she moved with her family to Schuler, Alberta at a very young age. At the age of seventeen she moved to Acme, Alberta where she lived and worked until she married Charlie in 1942. They raised their family and farmed in the Rockyford area until she was admitted to extended care seven years ago. Esther is also survived by eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchiidren; a sister Leah and half-sister Rita, both of Edmonton.

She was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the continuing care staff for the excellent medical and compassionate care given to Esther. Achen McCann Arbour Michaud Askew Miller Mok Dietrich Prossak Doell Pruett Tomie Van 212508 ACHEN John Milton 1924-2003 John 'Milton' Achen of Calgary passed away suddenly home on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at the age of years. Milt moved to Calgary min 1997 from Saskatoon, to be closer to his family. He lived in Saskatchewan most of his life and had a lengthy career traveling with Government of Saskatchewan Highway Traffic Board.

Milt was proudly a World War veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy, having served aboard the "H.M.S. Buckingham', which included the taking and surrendering of the first German submarine in Canadian waters. loved to travel. Milt's most memorable trips included Portugal, Costa Rica and Africa. Most of all, he enjoyed meeting people.

No matter where he went, Milt managed to meet somebody who knew somebody from Saskatchewan. His baritone voice, wry sense of humor and passion for debate drew much attention at social gatherings. For this Milt will be remembered by his many peers and companions at Dana Village and most recently the Seniors' Residence at the Colonel Belcher. Milt was the eldest of the late Mathias and Rose (nee Kappel) Achen and is survived by his children and their families, his youngest and only son Todd, wife Kathy and children, Dylan and Janine; middle daughter Terry-Lee Betschart, husband Herb and son Alexander; and eldest, daughter Deborah Achen and husband Perry Lebioda. Although lived apart from his wife June Patricia (Pat), the family was able to spend many special occasions together because they all reside in Calgary.

Milt is also survived by younger siblings and their families, Doreen (Carew) 0'Grady of Lloydminster, Richard (Vi) Achen and Don (Mona) Achen of Saskatoon. He also leaves his good friend and social companion Audrey Crowe of Calgary, with whom he shared many laughs. If may be made 11 Street -242862 FUNERAL -041568 SCHNEE -Lela Alice July 12, 1904 December 22.2003 Lela Alice Schnee was born in Cleveland, Oklahoma, USA and at age five she came with her parents, Anna and Dan Scully to Seven Persons, Alberta to homestead in 1909. She went to school in Seven Persons, took her high school in Medicine Hat and enrolled at Normal School in Calgary, hoping to become a teacher, but handsome Henry won her heart and they were married in Medicine Hat in 1924.

They farmed in the Granlea district for twenty-five years, planting many trees and shrubs, a variety of fruit trees and always had a large irrigated vegetable garden and a beautiful flower garden. She was left a young widow in 1949 with children in school but she carried on until the boys took over the farm. In 1959 she bought a small house on a large lot in Red Deer which, at that time was in the Red Deer Municipality and for thirty years she planted trees and shrubs, fruit trees, a small vegetable garden and a large flower garden, creating a most beautiful park. She resided in West Park Nursing Home for two years and when it closed she moved to Lacombe Health Care Centre where she has resided for the last nine years. Her love of reading was with her all her life and at age ninety-nine was still reading books from the library up until a few days before her death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her eight children, Marion (Bob) Wooden of Calgary; Neil (Sally) of Surrey, BC; Theda Lloyd of Delburne, AB; Alice (Fred) Larson of Willow Bunch, Dale (Bev) of Chilliwack, BC; Merle (Mary) of Edmonton and the twins, Harold (Erma) and Harvey (Natasha), both of Maleb, AB.
