The Ontario Censor Board has snipped more than a minute from the movie, which deals with the life and work of British painter David Hockney. I saw the film in its entirety at Toronto's Festival of Festivals in September and was shocked only by the magnificence of Hock-ney's work. The censors were shocked by a scene showing two nude men in a bed and axed according ly a little late as the film showed uncut In Ottawa three years ago.

Ottawa public library on Slater is- showing the film A.M. Klein: The Poet As Landscape on Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. Mark it in your diary. It's highly recommended.

It tells the story of the life of one of Canada's best poets through interviews, selections from Klein's work and some excellent film footage: Klein is something of a forgotten hero in this country, and the film restores his reputation.
