Mra. Roy Ftynie Promirjent Resident Dies af Her Home Mr. Roy C. Finnic a resident of Ottawa for the past 30 years, died on Friday at her home, 117 Strathcon avenue. Un Fihrie was prominently identified for many yeara with.

the Ottawa Rowing in which her husband and aoni were active, and waa president of the club'a ladies' auxiliary. At the time of her death, one Ml TVwiIff rinni. Ont, as stroke of the Ottawa Rowing Club eight which la competing in the Olympic trials. Word that she had died came as. a severe shock to her many friends.

During her association "with the rowing club she had endeared herself to all the club members and their associates. Mrs. Finnie was a past of the women's auxiliary of Artillery. She waa a devout parishioner of Blesned Sacrament Church. was the former Genevieve Louise Tomney and was a daughter of Mrs.

C. J. Tomney and the late J. Tomney, of St John, NB. She was born and educated in that elty and in 1915 married Roy Finnie in Quebec City.

i Surviving are her- husband, her mother, four sons, Donald, of Ottawa; Frank C-, of -the Department of External Affairs, at present In Moscow; Flight Lt G. X. Finnie, RCAF, now in Washington, and James- Finnie, of Montreal. The body is at the George H. Rogers from where the funeral will be held Monday morning to Blessed Sacrament Church for requiem high mass at eight o'clock.

Summerstown Native Laplanfe Dies J-oweu uwrence Laplante, a native of Summerstown arid for the past seven years an Ottawa resident, died suddenly on Friday at his Montreal road, RR 1, Ottawa. He was 49 of age. Mr. Laplante was a Vetera years 4 oi years overseas service during World War I and was wounded In action.

He was a member of the War Amputees' Association. I He was born and educated In Summerstown and lived there during the greater part of his lit. He. was the son of' the late Mi" and Mrs. Henry Laplante.

Coming to Ottawa in 1941; he had been employed since then as an elevator operator with the Department of Public Works, Mr. Laplante was married at Toronto 23 years ago to the former Martha Pilkington, who predeceased him. I Surviving are a son, Ralph, at home; two daughters, VloletJ of Ottawa, and Shirley, at home; five brothers, Proctor, Tupper Lake, NT; John, New Zealand, and Wilfred and Elmo in Summerstown; and a sister, Mrs. John Gilligan, also of Summerstown; I The funeral service will be con ducted at McEvoy Bros, at a time and date to be announced later. C. A. Plamondon Dies in Montreal Mrs. Charles A. Plamondon, the former Germaine of Ottawa, died In a 36, Lefebvre Montreal hospital on Tuesday after a leng Illness.

She had lived in Montreal for the past 13 years, residing; at 749 Hickson avenue, at the time of her death Mrs, Plamondon was born in Ottawa, a daughter of the late Gedeon Lefebvre and the former Berthe Gougeon, and educated at Rldeau Street Convent, In 1934 she married Charles A. Ada Belle Caple Dies dr Age 64 Mrs. Ada Belle Caple, of 60 Anna an active member of the Ladles' Orange Benevolent Association, died on Friday at her home. She was in hjer 65th year. The former Ada Belle Crowder, she Vas the daughter of the late John Crowder and his wife, the former Margaret Sweeney, who survives. She was born in Pittston, near1 Cardinal, and received her education She was married at Iroquois in 1900 to William Rupert Caple.

He was with the Ottawa Electric Railway company for ,19 years and with the Department of Public Works for 11 years. Mr. Caple predeceased his wife in 1937. Mrs. Caple waa a member of Parkdale Avenue Baptist Church and also took a prominent part in work of the LOBA.

Surviving besides her mother, at South Gower, are two sons, Gerald and I- Cecil; and three daughters, Mrs. A. E. Stubbs, Mrs. M.

Munro, and Mrs. E. Lortle, all of Ottawa; a brother, Crowder, Hallville; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Jannack, Topley, BC, and Mrs. Howard Seers, South Gower, and nine grandchildren.

Rev. John McDowall will conduct the service at Veltch's, Park-dale avenue; on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will take place at South Gower. Alcide Bergeron35, Dies in Hospital Alcide Bergeron. 33.

Aklns. He received his education at Kinburn and Arnprlor and studied dentistry at the University of Toronto, graduating, in 1921. Dr. Aklns came to Ottawa following his graduation and practised here until 1945. He attended Parkdale United Church and was a member of the Dental Society of Ottawa and the Byng Fish and Game Club He was married at Ottawa in 1929 to the former Cora E.

Mc-Bride of Ottawa and she survives him. Surviving besides his widow are four brothers, James Pres-cott Highway; William J. and A. Aklns, Winnipeg, and F. L.

Akins, Edmonton; and a sister, Mrs. G. H. Bradley, Merivale. The funeral will be held from Hulse and Playf air's to Parkdale United Church f6r service at a time to be announced later.
