In 1967, the family immigrated from England to Calgary with the five children in tow. Their children prospered under the compassion and kindness of Helen and Henry. George was born in Broadview, Sask., the youngest of seven children. He was united m marriage to Eva Van Eaton November 30, 1949. George was a pioneer of the highway building industry m Alberta with his companies, George Ludwig Ltd. and Atex Construction, lifetime member of the Alberta Road Builders Association. After retiring from road construction, George and Eva settled on Gelstar Ranch near Clrve, AB, where they raised Blonde d Aquitame cattle and Appaloosa horses. They moved to the town of Lacombe in 1995 where George resided until his death. He is survived by four daughters, Edith (Wayne) Smrth of Lacombe, AB, Bonnie (Jerome) Wiideman of Clive.
