DECISION ON GALVAN PLEA SET THURSDAY AJtVed Will Review Killings For Facts Governor Allred Tuesday promised a decision Thursday on the plea of Ramiro (Paul) Galvan for commutation of a death sentence as he studied clemency petitions and protests. Galvan was sentenced to electrocution for the death of Ivan Scot- len. United States border patrolman. who was shot in a gun battle on the Rio Grande in El Paso county between officers and alleged smugglers.

The Mens Glee Club of the Texas College of Arts and Industries, directed by Paul M. Riley, head of the department of fine arts at the college, will make two appearances in Raymondville Wednesday, on their way to Harlingen, where they will 11 sing before the members of the South Texas State Teachers Association who will meet in that city thiis week.

The first appearance of the Glee Club members will be made before the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs of this city in joint meeting, which will be held at noon Wednesday at the Woman's Club building. Mr. Riley and his singer will have charge of the entertainment program during the meeting of the service clubs. At 8 o'clock Wednesday evening the college singers will appear in a concert to be held in the Ray- mondviile high school auditorium. No admission be charged for the concert.

The glee club, composed of 23 members and their director. wilr arrive in Raymondville Wednesday morning. Judge S. L. Gill, member of the board of regents of the college is expected to make the introductory speech at the meeting Wednesday noon.

The singers made an appearance in Raymondville on a similar occasion last year, pleasing their hearers in a concert rendered at the high school.
