Wilcox for the death of his brother Curtis C. Wilcox, 64. He died Saturday in Chambers County Hospital in Anahuac where he had owned and operated a drug store for several years. He was burled Sunday at in Anahuac Cemetery. Other survivors are his other brother, Lewis Wilcox of Latexo, a sister, Mrs.

and Mrs. James Rives of Liberty enjoyed the Easter Weekend Camping at Anahuac bay. Sunday Dwayne Rives found the Easter bunnie had come to see him at the estate of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. P.R.

Rives where he also flew his first kite. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Allen and son of Beaumont spent Easter with their parents, Mrs. O.D.

Allen of Hardin and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Ursprung of Rye. Mr. and Mrs.

and Mrs. Dochhan are from West Berlin Germany and now make their home with their daughter, Hilga, and her family, the Robert Crockers of Simmons Bottoms. Neither Christine or Karl speak English and this reporter found the two of them beautiful people. Karl will be 87 years young this July and Is a retired brick layer. Christine likes to keep busy sewing.

Louis Meche hosted parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Langston of Silsbee Easter Sunday. Also from Silsbee were Mr.

and Mrs. James Birdwell and their baby boy and Glenda Birdwell. Mr. and Mrs. Willie Swearingen of Liberty also visited with the Louis Sunday.

Mrs. Howard Peak enjoyed a 10th year high school class reunion in Nederland this past Saturday. Friends and family of Lester and Celia Dagle will enjoy helping them celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary this coming Sunday as they have Open House from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. We wish them many happy returns of the day. Another celebration took place at the home of Jewel Traywiek last Sunday evening as Mr.

and Mrs. Jerry Lee and children from Beaumont and Mr. and Mrs. David Bautsch of Liberty were here to help Mr. Traywiek celebrate his 61st birthday.

Taking advantage of Easter holidays, Mrs. Anna Belle Johnson took her granddaughter, Patti, Mrs. Ula Hennes of Daisetta, and Mrs. granddaughter-in- law, Marge Chandler, on a trip. They enjoyed New Orleans complete with a tour of the French Quarters, of course, and then ventured over into Alabama, They say the coastline is lovely this time of year.

Early morning sunshine breaking through the trees and a backdrop of greenery were God's own special effects for the drama of Sunrise Services at Oakdale Cemetery last Sunday morning. Other special services were Good Friday Services at the Devers Methodist Church Friday night. Special music was presented by the choir of the Daisetta United Methodist Church and many members of that church were guests of the Devers church. The Beginner and Nursery classes and a few other guests enjoyed a traditional egg hunt in the yard of tlie Devers Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. last Friday.

Workers assisting with tin1 party and hunt were Mrs. Sidnej Hill, Mrs. J.C. Elkins, Mis. Charles White, and numerous others.

About 20 children enjoyed the festivities. Attendance at Sunday morning services at the Baptist Church was enlarged by the presence of guests and family of Rev. and Mrs. Don Perego. Mr.

and Mrs. Richard Mit hell and Ricky of Sulfar, Louisiana were here. The Per also enjoyed the company of a niece Darlene Perego who ii presently attending college at McNeese. Then later in the day they were joined by Dr. and Mrs.

Kenneth Perego and four of their children from Pineville, I oulsiana. Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Jones had their and her husband C.L.

Vines from Nederland present for supper Sunday evening. The J.C. report that Alan is moving to Dallas to take up a new position there with the Dallas News. Wanda and David were each home visiting parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Grover Cross this past weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Bayless and Patty were also at the Cross Residence Sunday evening. The Bayless family is from Channelview.

Liberty came off with top honors again at a track meet in West Orange last Thursday. Many college students home for the holidays were there to urge them on. Mary Evelyn Galloway was there with her friend NancyMelaskl of Liberty. Ricky Myers was home from and Candy Nolte from Sam Houston. visited his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. C.M. Waters during the aster weekend. Mr. and Mrs.

Gideon H. Watson of Garland spent the Easter weekend visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hollis B. Hunt in Hull and Mr.

and Mrs. J.T. Watson in Daisetta. Other guests in the Watson noun were Jim Watson of Austin, Karen Weltze of San Jose, alifornia and a student at Texas University in Also Mr. and Mrs.

Isaac Alexander and sons Dennis, Mark and Brian; Mr, and Mis. Jim Arnold all from Baytown and Tim Wallace formerly of Daisetta now serving with the U.S. Marines at Camp I eJeune, North Carolina. Tim also visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Fred Swensen. Mrs. Effif1 Noack visited her brother and sister-in- law Mr. and Mrs. DennLs Stewart in Houston Sunday.

Mrs. Irene Allenspent Easter Sunday visiting in the home of her son and daughter-in- law Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Allen Liberty.

Out of town guests the home of Mrs. Julia Jangston during the Easter weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Al Bodln and children of Houston, Mrs. Alton Richardson and family of Silst ee.

Mr. and Mrs. H.J. McCoy and children of Chula Vista, California visited Mr. and Mrs, Harry Broom last week.

Other guests in the Broom home were Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Mains ot Beaumont. Mrs. John 1 arris is visiting Mr.

and Mrs. Dan Johnson and family and other relatives in Beaumont this week. Mr. and Mrs. H.F.

Conipstom have as their guest this week her sister Mrs. Flo Owen from Malakoff. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Finch and children spent several days during the Easter Holidays at their farm in Mineola.

Mr. and Mrs. Terrece Elwood Stutes of Houston visited his Mr, and Mrs. A.N, Stutes Friday evening. Mr.

and Mrs. A.N. Stutes attended the Dogwood Festival in Woodvllle Saturday. They also visited Mrs. Ross Carr while there.

The cattle will be used in a major new genetic experiment in beef research. Two cattle coaches transported the cattle from the famous Plantation Ranch in North Liberty County to the Texas University search Center in McGregor, Te xas. Dr. Henry A.

Fitzhugh project director and Samuel S. Pegues represented the University in making the request, selection and transportation of these championship cattle. The Plantation Ranch was represented by owner Gov. BUI Daniel, foreman Fred Stanfield and Will Daniel, vice-president of Daniel Land and Cattle Company, Inc. Additional signatures to the contract included Jack K.

Williams, president of the Texas University System, Dr. H.O. Kunkel, director of the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, and Dr. O.D. Butler, head of the Animal Science Department.

Dr. R.C. Thomas, resident director of the McGregor Research Station, and his staff headed by Jim Phillips, received the cattle. They will care for and breed them by artificial insemination from five breeds in the first phases of the project. The breeds include Angus, Hereford, Brahman, Holstein and Jersey.

In the secondary phases semen from other breeds will be used including the new Exotics such as Limousin, Simmental, Maine- Anjou and others. The project will extend over several years and the interest of furthering specific research in connection with evaluation of Hybrid Systems for efficiency of beef are grateful for Governor kind response and generous cooperation on our new beef research project. It will help us greatly.
