Weaver of Liberty, has enrolled for study at Golden (late Baptist Theological Seminary at Mill Valley, Calif. A graduate of Howard Payne College, Mr. Weaver is working toward the bachelor of Divinity degree at the seminary, located, immediately north of San Golden Bridge. Located on Strawberry Point! peninsula protruding into the Pacific waters of bay, the seminary is an accredited member of the American Association of Theological Schools, it is owned and operated by the Southern: liaptist Convention, Mrs. Opal Shauberger returned home last week after spending two weeks with four members of the Woodman Circle of Houston on a vacation in Mexico City and other points of interest.

Buell. Candidates selected for homecoming queen of the Hardin-East Chambers football game. October 26, were Debbie Craig of the freshman class. Linda Crocker from the sophomore class, Beverly Robinson of the Junior class and Patricia Reeling of the senior class. Speech Students Entertain PT HARDIN IXrnald Thornton presented his speech students in a play when the Hardin Pa rent- Teachers Association met last Thursday in the school auditorium.

Theme for the program was and the play was entitled, "Trial of a Citizen." Members of the class who took part were James Rives, Don Fre- wln, Johnny Carter, Martha Tipton and Jimmy Myriok Mrs. Joan Gatlin is program chairman for the PTA, and PTA president Mrs. Pauline Hunchey introduced Mr. Thornton. Opening prayer was given by Rev.

Robert Coyner of the Hardin Methodist Church. A brief business session followed the program with 4U members present. Closing prayer was given by J. D. Handley.

Lovelady Rites For Mother of Dayton Resident PAYTON Funeral services were held In the Lovelady Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Monday, October 15, for Mrs, Leza Tigner. mother of Miss Mary Wesley Tigner of Dayton. Mrs. Tigner, 84, was a resident New Members Initiated By Woodson NHA Girls RAYWOOD Members of the! Woodson Chapter of New Homemakers concluded a three day i initiation program when they initiated 10 new members into; their club at a business and social meeting in the homemaking department on October 3.

The newr club members are Linda Andress. Alma ftuth Carrier, Patricia Colquiett.j Eula Gonzales, Laura Mouton. Linda Rogers, Charlotte Taylor, Germaine Williams and Brenda Sams. Committee were given by all standing committees and plans were discussed for the I Cavalcade of Cottons which the chapter will present at the! school on Tuesday, October 23. 1 Other plans discussed were partial plans for participating in the Bi-Counrty Exposition.

The recreation committee presented several new relaxers and; served refreshments to the group A special guest was the chapter mother, Mrs. A. S. Scott. of torela.ly but had been patient in a Huntsville for the past nine rnoufhs after suffering a fall last January.

She died in the Huntsville hospital early Sunday morning. October 14. Rev. Jewel Strong, pastor ol the Crockett Methodist Church and former Dayton pastor, conducted the services assisted by the church pastor, Rev. Dishman.

Mrs. Tigner is survived by two daughters, Miss Tigner and C. E. Davis of Huntsville and one; son. Rev.

Hugh S. Tigner of New York State. Burial was in the Lovelady Cemetery with the Renfro Funeral Home of Trinity in charge of arrangements. illle ewlq presided during the business meeting. Elected officers for year were Mrs.
