The honoree was presented a piece of sterling in her chosen pattern, by the hosteases. The luncheon table was centered with an arrangement of white gladioli and daisies in the bridal motif. Places were laid for 15, and the guest list included close friends of Mias I.amb, her mother, Mrs. Marguerite Lamb, and Mrs. William E.

Jenkins of Hankamer, mother of the intended groom. A miscellaneous shower last Wednesday in the Mike Splane home was another lovely compliment to the bride-elect. Hostesses for the affair were Mrs. Splane. Mrs.

J. V. LaFour. Mrs. Hob Martin and Mrs.

Louis Johnson, and calling hours were between 4 and 7 p. m. The refreshment table was covered w'ith a white Maderia linen cloth, and held as a centerpiece a miniature bride and groom on a stand in a bowl. Sw'eetheart roses encircled the figures and Guests of W. L.

Donna Ruth was the graduates. Miss Smith and Miss Evelyn Flynn accompanied Mrs. niari to New Orleans Saturday for a visit. the same roses were floated in Hie bowl. The crystal j)unch bowi was surrounded by gardenias and green leaves.

Trays of tiny bell and heart-shaped open face sandwiches, cookies, nuts and mints comi)leted the table appointments. Mrs. Oscar (Iriffin. the honoree's sister, and Miss Sylvia Crain allernated at serving punch. An arrangement of Calla lillies on an antique buffet in the dining room emphasized the bridal theme, and other arrangements of the lillies, daisies, gladioli and red roses were lovely accents throughout the house.

Miss June Jenkins, sister of the groom, registered the guests in the den at an heirloom table, holding beside the gue.st book, a bud vase of yellow' roses. R. gave a report of the recent state convention when the group held a regular monthly business and program meeting Saturday, May 24 at 8 p. m. Mrs. M.

Miss Holt attended the convention held in Dallas, May 14-L5-liJ as a delegate from the local chapter. A program on Jane Long, is called the Mother of Texas, was presented. During the business session, it was voted to with the June meeting, and meet again in October. Ftefreshments were served to nine members and one guest. Those attending were Mrs.

Parker Carilyn Frances Canon of Waco and Lieutenant Thomas Powell Baker of Austin and Albequerque, N.M. were married in the F'irst Baptist Church of Waco May 27, on the 25th wedding anniversary of her parents, Mr.

Mrs. J. W. Baker and the late Mr. Baker of Dayton are the groom's grandparents.

H-D STUDY CLUB CONCLUDES YEAR WITH INSTALLATION he Hull- Daisetta Study Club held the final meeting of the club year on 28 in the home of R. J. Champagne. Mrs. Howard Disharoon i)resident, presided.

The opening prayer was given by iioy Abshier. F'ollow'ing the business meeting, Disharoon introduced Jim LeVrier. LeVrier installed the slate of new' officers, who will serve for a term. Mrs. Disharoon will serve again as president; Mrs.

Joe Hudson, vice-president; Mrs. Elmer Thompson, treasurer; F'red Seal, corresponding secretary: James Chalfant. parliamentarian: Lee Kaemmerling, recording secretary and Mrs. Clyde federation counselor. After the installation Mrs.

Champagne and Mrs. Kaemmerling were co-hostess for a brunch served to the 20 members attending. trees. Mrs. W.

J. Wimpee, a former Daytonite, i)layed traditional wedding music and accompanied Miss Pritchard of Livingston, ViH-alist. The bride was gowned in a formal princess dress of candlelight organza fashioned with a portrait yoke of Alencon lace outlined with seed pearls. of cousin of the groom were ushers. Roland Gooch of Port Arthur, the cousin and Dwyer of Waco were candle- lighters. The bride received her degree in art from Baylor University last month. She was a. member of Athenean Club and Rhapsody in White Chorus.

and the Flxtension Service of Texas College have plan ned the program to include plant diseases and their control, laws and lawn care, landscape planting, flower arranging for special occasions, soil conditioning, and an evening program on feature lighting for home gardens with barbecue dinner, $1.25 extra. Ti. W. Pickett, Jr. were co-hostesses to a pantry shower for Miss Sitton. The affair was at the Waugh home, and 30 guests came at the designated hour.

Cokes, cheese cake, coffee cake and other varieties of sweets were served from the bountiful refreshment table. A group of close friends of the bride-elect were invited to a per- shower in the W. S. Holt home Saturday aiternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. Hostesses were Mrs.
