FEB. 16 I Vindicator Editorials THE LIBERTY VINDICATOR Liberty, Texan, Thursday, February 14, 1957 TRIBUTE With its membership meeting at the Magnolia Ridge Country Ciub next Tuesday, February 19, the Texas Independent Producers Royalty Owners Association (TIPRO) will pay tribute to the Liberty area in two ways; 1. Simply holding a meeting here, TIPUO is recognizing and honoring the growing influence of the Liberty area in the oil industry. 2.

In sending Johnny Mitchell, its state membership chairman, to preside over the meeting, T1PRO is paying horn- mage to the ability of local oilmen and is making a forthright and complimentary effort to lure that leadership into a broader field of endeavor. The right and wrong of the current national squabble over crude prices and the shipment of oil to Europe is a subject that is over the head oi mis newspaper, but it seems crystal clear that TIPRO is consistently in the forefront of the to protect the independent producers and royalty owners such as abound in the Liberty area. Therefore, it follows that any say local interests might have in the matter will be through such an organization as TIPRO. Now comes TIPRO inviting local oil people to participate. It appears as a singular compliment.

This paper, though woefully ignorant of the full extent of the oil business here, is tremendously proud of the growth that industry has experienced. Moreover, this paper heartily recommends that local oil people assume the role of leadership they have rightfully Mars has started moving farther away from the earth again. know as we blame it Times. A salute is due, also, to the men who have accepted places of leadership in the Boy Scout movement. Many of them are men without sons or grandsons. It is especially gratifying this year, when America apparently is hitting the climax of a return to fundamental religious principles, that the theme of this 47th anniversary of scouting in America has for Cod and as its theme. Scoutmaster Bill Rowe of Liberty Troop 55 listed six objective for his scouts during the special week. One of them suggested concentration on being more trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and home, at school, at play.

Another urges scouts to do a good turn just think about it. Come to think about it, those are pretty good objectives for adult concentration weeks a year.
