LYNN LAKE, Man. (Cr) A forest fire that forced about 800 people to evacuate their homes lost some of its punch Thursday, but winds threatened to push the fire towards this remote northwestern Manitoba mining community. 'The fire appears to be stable," said Brian Kozak of Manitoba's Emergency Measures Organization. But southeast winds blowing up to 20 kilometres an hour were still a concern, said an Environment Canada official. Andy Yun said the wind is not expected to shift direction away from the town until this afternoon.

The fire was within five kilometres of the community to the south. Kozak, meanwhile, said a light rain helped about 100 firefighters contain the blaze Thursday and more rain was forecast overnight. Crews were hoping to slow the fire's progress by bulldozing clearings and backburning ahead of the blaze to starve it of fuel. He was predeceased by six sisters and two brothers. John was an active member of St.

On June 30, 1993 Mr. Dick Gaetz died suddenly at the age of 62 years. Dick was the best friend and loving husband of Margot. He is also survived by his sister Evelyn and her husband Eugene Henderson; nephews, Kent and Scott; his step-father-in-law Carl Fietz; and step-son Donald; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Dick was a long time employee of Transalta Utilities and will be missed by his many special friends.

GAULEY Willard (Bill). It is with sadness that the children announce the death of our Dad on June 29, 1993 after a long battle with cancer. Dad was born in Loverna, Saskatchewan on November 29, 1924. He served in the R.C.A.F. overseas in England during World War II and returned to Calgary at war's end.

He was with Shell Oil of Canada for thirty years until his retirement in 1981. He was predeceased by one son Neil in 1974, and is survived by a son Brian in Vancouver, a son Randy (Joanne), Calgary; a daughter Anne-Marie (Jonathan), Calgary; as well as five grandchildren. Dad is also survived by one sister and two brothers. It was Dad's wish that no Service be held. 0S1 Deaths MILLS Mrs.

G.D. (Trudy) Mills passed away on the 29 of June, 1993 after a long battle with cancer of the brain. Trudy will be sorely missed by her husband Robert-children, Ray, Trevor, and Monique; and her sister Deanna of Edmonton and her children. Trudy was born and raised near Hlnes Creek, Alberta. After a career with the R.C.A.F., Inculding three years In Europe working In Security and Intelligence, Trudy returned to Alberta, married Robert, settled In Calgary and devoted her life to raising her family.

Trudy has been active In politics, and Is a member of the Board of Directors for the Reform Party In Calgary Southwest. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. In the St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday, July 2, 1993, at 66 7 Street N.E., Calgary, Alberta. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church. REID Mrs. Louise Hester Reld (formerly Evans, nee Cann), went to be with the Lord suddenly at the Holy Cross Hospital on June 28, 1993 at the age of 76 years. She is survived by her loving husband Grant H.W. Reid of Calgary; her daughter Diane Louise Brondgeest (formerly Sheinin) of Edmonton; three grandchildren, Robb (Renee) Sheinin of Fresno, California, Randy (Tracey) Sheinin of Surrey, B.C.

and Sam Brondgeest of Edmonton; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Sheinin of California, Tvson and Michael Sheinin of Surrey, B.C.; two brothers. Lorry and Dick Cann; and one sister Millie Bishop; one sister-in-law June Cann; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her mother, father, two brothers and one sister. Louise was born August 13, 1916 in Saskatchewan. In later years she was employed with the British American Oil Company both in Regina and Calgary and was an active member of Cambrian Heights Baptist Church.

Telephone: 272-5555. SCHNELL Mrs. Josephine Caroline Francisca Schnell, beloved wife of Mr. Willi Schnell of Calgary, passed away at the Bethany Care Centre on June 28, 1993, at the age of 79 years. She is the loving mother of one son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Terry and two grandchildren, Pamela and Robert, all of Chile.

She is also survived by numerous relatives in Belgium. Mrs. Schnell was born in Belgium, and came to Canada in 1956. She lived in Regina for two years then moved to Calgary where she has resided ever since. Mrs.

Schnell taught school for fifteen years at James Fowler before retiring in 1979. She was a dedicated teacher who taught sewing design and French. Funeral Services will be held at MclNNIS 8. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 1989 and two sisters, Margaret in 1988 and Marion in 1981. Wilma will be sorely missed and always remembered by her family as well as those very special care givers at the Bethany Care Centre, who especially enioyed her infectious smile. Besides his loving wife, Robert is the loving father of one son and two daughters, Curtis, Courtney and Cody-Ann, all of Calgary. He is also survived by his mother and father, Dolores and Robert Toole of Calgary; grandmother Elizabeth Selzler of Beiseker; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sharon O'Toole and Deborah and Angus Smith, all of Glendon, Kathryn and Rob Hartwell of Calgary and Lorilee Toole of Armstrong, B.C.; his father-in-law Russell Marsh; and his sister-in-law and her husband, Linda and Mike Ensign of Calgary. He was predeceased by his daughter Colleen in 1984. Bob was born in Stettleron December 23, 1952. He leaves to mourn, a close and loving family and was a happy and fun loving guv with a big heart and a ready smile, who will be sadly missed.

She is also survived by two grandchildren and by nieces and nephews in England. She was precedeased by her husband Tom Thomas in 1978 and a daughter Margaret May in 1965.

Mrs. Tigner was predeceased by her husband Vernon Tigner in March of 1939, her grandsons, Stewart Lychliter in New Mexico and Kenneth Noble in Saskatoon, her brothers. Jack, Nix, Vernon, Bill, Teddy Parker, and one brother and one sister in infancy and her sister Edna Hutchinson. LEWIS Eric George, after a long, agonizing illness, Eric is finally at rest, passing away June 28, 1993 at Bethany Care Centre at the age of 61 years. He is survived by his wife Joan; daughter Robyn; sons, Lome (Judy), Greg; two granddaughters, Amelia and Marissa; one brother Bill (Bobbie) and family; and several nieces and nephews. Eric was predeceased by his sister Margaret in Leicester, England in January of 1993, his father Jerome in 1988, his mother Anne in 1980, and a brother Lome in 1952. Eric was an avid sports enthusiast, dearly loved to golf and was a member of the Elks Golf Club prior to his illness. He also at one time was a working member of the Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association.
