DAILY ITEM Sunbury, April 15, 1980 obituaries Miss Frances A. Graham DANVILLE A Mass of Christian Burial for Frances Anne Graham, 22, of 116 Lower Mulberry will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Church, Danville. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends will be received in the John J. Brady Funeral Home, Danville, this evening from 7 to 9. The rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 8:30. Miss Graham was pronounced dead at the scene of an automobile accident Sunday morning. Mrs.

of Camp Hill, Donald H. of Milton, and Gerald E. of Mechanicsburg; nine grandchildren; Mrs. Mabel A. Rebuck DORNSIFE The funeral for Mrs.

Mabel A. Kahler Rebuck, 82, of Dornsife RD, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Himmel's Lutheran Church, Rebuck, by the Rev. Paul Billow. Burial will be in Himmel's Cemetery, Rebuck.

Friends may call in the church Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Idella Rebekah Lodge will have a service at 7, p.m. Wednesday in the Church.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Lawrence E. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD. Mrs. Rebuck died at 4:50 a.m. Monday in the Sunbury Community Hospital, where she was a patient since Saturday.

She was a member of Himmel's Lutheran Church and Sunday school and the Women's Group of the Church, Rebuck. She also was a member of the Idella Rebekah Lodge 58, of Dornsife, Past Nobels Grand Association; and the Herndon Senior Citizens. Born in Dornsife RD on Jan. 1, 1898, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma Jane Hoch Kahler. Her husband, Harry E.

Rebuck, died in 1976. She is survived by five children, Paul G. Rebuck of Rebuck, Mrs. Elda Schlegel of Tower City, Darwin F. Rebuck of Loyalton, Marlin H.

Rebuck of Gratz, and Mrs. Shirley London of Sunbury RD3; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren: and on great-great-granddaughter. Delroy G. Lloyd MILTON Delroy G. Lloyd, 75, a resident of the Centre Towne Apartments, South Front and Mahoning streets, died today at 8 a.m.

Cummings MILTON Edward S. Cummings, 62, Tioga RD1, formerly of New Columbia, died Friday in his home, according to word received here. He was a retired farmer and had worked in the Milton area for several years. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Tilburg; and three children, Gerald, George and Virgie, all of Tioga RD1. A funeral was conducted today in Mansfield.

Patynski, 49, Milton school teacher MILTON Walter Edward Patynski, 49, of Mahoning Manor, Milton, a school teacher in the Milton School District, was pronounced dead on arrival at 6:15 a.m. today in the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. He lived in the Milton area for 20 years, where he was employed in the school district.

He was a graduate of Shamokin High School, Bloomsburg College and Bucknell University, Lewisburg, He was a member of St. Stanislus Church, Shamokin, when he lived there. When he lived in Milton, he was a member of St. Joseph's Church. He served in the U.S.

Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. Born in Shamokin on March 18, 1931, he was a son of Michael and Eleanor Tobias Patynski of Shamokin. In 1961, he married the former Rita Suchomajcz, who survived. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents, are a son, Walter at home; and a brother, Bernard of- Poughquat; N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

McCormick MILTON Mrs. Emma Baxter McCormick, of Fort Morgan, formerly of Milton, died April 2, at Fort Morgan, according to word received here. A native of York County, she was a 1925 graduate of the Milton High School, and a 1928 graduate of the Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove. She was a school teacher. Mrs.

McCormick was a daughter of the late Rev. and 'Mrs. Baxter, at one time Rev. Baxter had pastored the Allenwood Presbyterian Church. Her husband, the Rev.

Frank McCormick, a Presbyterian minister, died in 1978. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Bottoms of Dallas, Texas; two David of River Falls, and Frank T. of Fort Morgan; six grandchildren; one sister, Miss Catharine Baxter of Fort Morgan; and one brother, Richard Baxter of Erie. Graveside services were conducted Saturday in Allenwood.

John E. Kelsey AVIS The funeral for John E. Kelsey, 91, of Brady Street, will be conducted Thursday in Lock Haven. Mr. Kelsey died Monday in SusqueView Nursing Home, Lock Haven.

Born in Milton, Jan, 15, 1889, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kelsey. A graduate of the former Bloomsburg Normal School, he taught school for 37 years, 27 of them at Hughesville. He retired in 1953.

He lived in Avis since 1967. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Avis; and the National Retired Teachers Association. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Vondall Rogers, with whom he lived, and Mrs. Elvin Joy of Bordentown, N.Y.; a son, Watson R.

of Lock Haven; a brother, William Kelsey of Hughesville; a sister, Mrs. Edgar Huff of Branch, N.J.; four grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and three greatgreat-grandchildren. Mrs. N. Elizabeth Buss PICTURE ROCKS A funeral will be conducted Wednesday in Hughesville for Mrs.

N. Elizabeth Buss, 101, of Center Street, who died Sunday in the Kramm Nursing Home, Watsontown, where she had been a patient for five days. Born June 25,, 1878, in Mifflinburg, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Mina Culp Klose. Her husband, Henry B. Buss, died in 1948.

She was the oldest member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hughesville. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. C. Louise Bitler, with whom she lived; two sisters, Mrs. Erma Mutchler and Mrs.

Esther Stroup, both of Williamsport; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Daniel P. Dilliplane SHAMOKIN A funeral will be conducted Wednesday in Shamokin for Daniel Perry Dilliplane, 27, of 1451 W. Montgomery who died Sunday in University Hospital, Baltimore, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Routes 15 and 806 in Frederick, Md. Among his survivors is a sister, Debbi Dilliplane, Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove.

Mrs. Stella M. Arnold MILTON Mrs. Stella M. Arnold, 93, of Royal Oak, formerly of 395 Park Milton, died Saturday at 10:05 p.m.

in the Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, according to word received here. Her husband, Charles H. Arnold, died in 1971. She is survived by three daughters, two stepdaughters, and three stepsons. A burial will be in Michigan.

SUNBURY city man charged with hitting a city policeman during a neighborhood disturbance Sunday night has been identified as Edward R. Ross, 32, of 335 Linden St. Investigating officer William: Hudson said Ross was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Police were called to the 300 block of. Linden Street twice Sunday night in response to complaints.

The last call came at about 9:30, about 30 minutes after the initial complaint. Police said Ross, the only person charged in the incident, was informed by Hudson he would be charged with disorderly conduct. Police said he resisted Hudson and patrolman David. Donmoyer, and shoved Donmoyer and struck him in the nose, causing it to bleed. Donmoyer did not require hospital treatment.

On Monday, police said the incident apparently began when people at a party at Ross's house accused another area resident of, using drugs. One neighbor said some obscene gestures were made. At one point, five city, policemen, including several off-duty officers, and one officer each from Point Township and Northumberland were called to the scene. After the initial call, Hudson reported peole at the Ross home were "drinking and having a party." They were told to stop making noise, but police were called again by two other Linden Street residents. Six persons were taken to the police station, then released.

Arrangements will be made later for Ross to appear before Districts Justice Wade J. Brown. Board weighs opposition to water rates TREVORTON Zerbe Township supervisors haven't decided whether to oppose a Trevorton Water Co. rate inOcrease approved last week by the Public Utility Commission. The supervisors discussed the issue Monday night, and have until April 25 to decide.

The commission approved an increase in water rates that totals $26,800, about half the requested rate increase of $52,600. Under the approved increase, water rates for the average residential user would increase from $128.84 to $164.16 per year. In other business, the board requested that the Northumberland County Manpower Agency provide the township with a Comprehensive Employment and Training Act employees for the recreation area. The supervisors also authorized the recreation commission to prescribe rules for the operation of the recreation area. They will bring their recommendations to the board, and the board will Inmate sentenced for theft, escape SUNBURY A former Sunbury man will spend up to five additional years in a state correctional institution for a theft and escape from the Northumberland County Jail.

Jay R. Hoff, 48, was sentenced to to-5 years Monday by Northumberland County Judge Samuel C. Ranck. Ranck heard brief a arguments on motions for new trials on both charges, but denied both. Hoff is serving years at Camp Hill for an April 1977 burglary at the Agway Store here.

He was sentenced Dec. 13, 1979. Ranck's new sentences will run consecutively to the long-term sentence. He was sentenced to 6-to-12 months for the theft of $94 from a parked Coca-Cola truck in Northumberland in 1977. A jury convicted Hoff in 1978.

He was sentenced to 2-to-4 years for his July 12, 1978, escape from the Northumberland County Jail. He used an electric cord to slide down from a second-floor window of the jail. He was re-, captured several weeks later in Utica, N.Y. Hoff indicated he will appeal both sentences to U.S. Superior Court.

Bucknell graduate dies in crash FREDERICK, Md. A 27-year-old Coal Township native who was a 1975 graduate of Bucknell University died in a two-car crash late Saturday night. State police here said Daniel Dilliplane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Dilliplane of Coal Township, was pronounced dead at 1:53 a.m.

Sunday in University Hospital, Baltimore, where he was taken by a state police helicopter. Dilliplane was returning to his home in Alexandria, after attending the wedding of a friend in Lewisburg, according to his family. Police said the accident occurred in rainy, foggy weather on Rt. 15. The victim's car crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle operated by a Wilkes-Barre area man.

Two passengers in his car were slightly injured. Mrs. Edna V. Mathias MILTON Mrs. Edna V.

Mathias, 78, of 34 Queen died Monday at 5 p.m. in her home. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Milton; Elizabeth Mildred Bible Class; Order of the Eastern Star 77, Milton, where she was past chaplain; William A. Knecht Memorial Court 144 Order of the Amaranth, Milton; Messiah White Shrine, Sunbury; and the Wallace W.

Fetzer American Legion Post 71 Auxiliary, Milton. Born May 17, 1901, in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Mary Reish Hoffmaster. She resided most of her lifetime in Milton. Her husband, Harmon B. Mathias, died in 1966, and a son, Leon died in 1971.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William D. Karchner of Milton; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Malcolm Hoffmaster of Cowan; and one sister, Mrs. Marcia Diefenbach of Mifflinburg. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m, in the Dale E.

Grace L. Graybill WILLIAMSPORT Mrs. Grace Lowe Graybill, 93, of 1926 W. Fourth died Sunday in the Leader Nursing Center. Among her survivors is a sister, Miss Helen Lowe of Danville.

The funeral will be conducted Monday in Williamsport. Jere Kreischer Sr. WHITE CITY, Ore. A funeral for Jere Kreischer 77, of 7655 Garrison who died Wednesday, was conducted Friday in Medford, Ore. Among his survivors are two sisters, Mrs.

Mary Kostenbauder of Mifflinburg and Mrs. Helen Swisher of Danville. make a final decision on their recommendations. In another matter, the supervisors agreed to repair property owned by Martin Share of Shamokin RD1. Share wrote the supervisors claiming that in 1978, they "illegally opened to public travel" a 30-foot street behind his property without any property owner's permission.

Since then, he said, his property has been damaged by snowplows, cars and trucks. He asked for compensation for damage to his property, which is located along the Trevorton Road, Rt. 225. He also asked that the supervisors close the road and locate it in another The supervisors made no decision on relocating the road. The township road inspection will be April 19.

Poultrymen cautioned HARRISBURG State Agriculture Secretary Penrose Hallowell is urging the state's commercial poultrymen and small flock owners to watch their flocks carefully for signs of Newcastle disease, also known as VVND. The secretary issued the warning after confirmation by the U. S.

Department of Agriculture of an outbreak of the highly contagious and lethal disease, which was discovered in a Yellow Naped Amazon parrot purchased in a Camp Hill pet shop. Hallowell said the disease poses a serious threat to the state's $300 million poultry and egg industry. The virus can cause death rates of up to 95 percent in birds and poultry, rapidly speading from bird to bird and from flock to flock. Check case settled SUNBURY A Selinsgrove man has paid $1,514 to settle a worthless check for $1,484 he wrote to a Northumberland business last year. Larry Leon Walter of 107 S.

High St. made restitution and paid a fine and costs for the check written Dec. 11 to and Furniture in Northumberland. District Justice Wade J. Brown said the settlement was made Monday.

Lecture set at BU LEWISBURG Richard F. Shuman, a senior research fellow at the Merck Sharp Dohme Research Laboratories, will lecture at Bucknell University Wednesday in the final program of the 1979-80 Series.
