BUCKNER Bethlehem Scenes Will Be Shown to First Methodists pre-Chriatmas service is planned for Sunday evening at the First Methodist church, when picture of Bethlehem will be shown by the pastor, the Rev Lawrence V. Lucas, who will describe the Holy Land scenes. Singing of old Christmas carols will also be a feature. In addition the church orchestra, directed by Willis Carl Winslow, will play "Fest March" by Gruen-wald; "Norwegian Dance" by Grieg; "Intermezzo" from "Cavalleria Rus-ticana" by Maseagni, and "Boston Commandery March" by Carter.

Ruth Jackson Olsen will be the soloist and Frank T. Perkins, organist, will play "Romance" by Zamee-Dlk as the offertory. At the morning worship the Rev. Mr. Lucas will preach on "The Star." Mr.

Perkins' organ numbers Include "To the Evening Star" by Wagner; "Melody'' by Dawes and Adams' "Postlude." The choir will lng the anthem, "God Is a Spirit," and Carlos Velasquez, baritone, will be the soloist. Epworth leagues convene at 6:30 p. and the Sunday school at 9:40 a. m. Activities of the week will include the usual prayer meeting Wednesday evening at 7:30 and a Joint meeting of the Home and Foreign Missionary societies Thursday at 10:30 m.

At noon luncheon will be served for a nominal sum, and the afternoon will be devoted to a program, with Mrs. E. Q. Sullivan bringing a Christmas message. 'Christmas Spirit' Is Lutheran Theme "John the Baptist's Contribution Toward the Christmas Spirit" will be the Rev.

Paul W. Rood, president of the Institute. Foursquare Gospel Services Announced Regular services will be held at Church of the Foursquare Gospel, Rialto avenue and street, tomorrow. Sunday school convenes at 9:45 ajn. The Rev.

Fred Johnson will speak at 11 a.m., his subject being "Unsettled Foundations," a missionary message. Crusader and O. S. meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. and at 7:30 the Rev.

Margaret Johnson will preach on "Foolish Decisions." Prayer meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Bible study the same time Friday evening. Dr. Johnston to Preach at Muscoy Dr. Robert Johnston, former pas of the First Baptist church in Honolulu, will speak at Muscoy Union Sunday school building tomorrow.

Sunday school convenes 9 a.m. and Dr. Johnston will speak to the children at 9:45. He will deliver a sermon at 10 a.m. and there will be special music.

Dr. Johnston's messages are short, scriptural and interesting. The public is invited. Services Arranged At Bellview Church T. R.

Atkinson, minister of the Church of Christ at 1323 Bellview avenue, will preach Sunday morning on "An Unknown God." This message is based on Paul's famous sermon on Mars Hill in Athens. At the Sunday school exercises tomorrow Mr. New-land will address the children and illustrate his talk with colored chalk. At the morning service the pas tor, the Rev. J. S.

Miller, will bring the message. His subject is "First Century Evangelism." The young people, with Paul LaDue in charge, will meet at 6:45 p.m. Mr. Newland will given an evan gelistic address, while portraying religious scenes with his colored crayons, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:30 o'clock. The public is invited to attend the special sen-ices, the talent of this young man being of the highest order and his unique method of presenting the gospel inspiring and uplifting.

The prayer and praise service will be held Wednesday night. Townsend Message For Spiritualists "The Fatherhood of Good; the Brotherhood of Men Embracing the Townsend Plan" will be subject for discussion by the Rev. Henry Heg-dahl at the First Spiritualist temple at 7:45 p.m. Sunday. There will be music by Mrs.

Hegdahl and the choir and messages by affiliated workers. Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. there will be ballots and messages and a short talk and messages at 8 p.m. Ballots will be read and questions answered Thursday night. A bunco party will be given Monday night, beginning at 8 o'clock.

Church of Christ Council to Elect Women's Council of the Church of Christ, Fourteenth and streets, will elect officers at the next meeting, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Blanche Aide and her committee will be in charge of the missionary program. Subjects for tomorrow's sermons by the pastor, Lertis R. Fitzwater's subject for 11 a.m. at the First Cumberland Presbyterian church will be "Who Is My Neighbor?" The church is situated at 200 East Highland avenue and Sunday school, directed by E. O. Bagwell, convenes at 9:45 a.m. Choir practice for the junior choir will be held Wednesday evening, with prayer meeting following at 7:30.

Harvey Deere, pastor of the First Baptist church, announces the coming of the "Haven of Rest Group," with First Mate Bob and his musical crew, who will give the entire program of music and an address tomorrow morning. These men of the "Good Ship Grace" will be glad to meet friends of their radio audience during their appearance here. At 7:30 p.m. the pastor will lead the congregation in an evangelistic service. The music and the message will be appealing and inspiring.

"My Intense Longing for You A Personal Message" will be the pastor's sermon theme, one of a scries. Wednesday evening at 7:30, in the auditorium, the Mason Bell Ringers will give a sacred concert. In addition to vocal selections and slides on the screen, the party will play Swiss handbells, musical glasses, triple chimes, a singing saw, vibraphone and "magical vio." The public is invited. 'Contacts, Contagion' Congregational Topic "Contacts and Contagion" is announced as the sermon topic upon which Lowell A. Young, the minister, will preach at the First Congregational church, Ninth and streets, tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock.

This hour provides the general worship service of the church during which the choir directed by Mrs. Estella Hall Reade, will sing the anthem "Fairest Lord Jesus" (Matthews), and Seward H. Brush will play the organ numbers, "Prelude in (Thome), "Album Leaf" (Granfield), and "Finale" (Batiste). Mr. Young will tell the children the second part of the story "A Boy Who Wanted to be a Prince." The church school begins its session at 9:45 a.m.

Lowell V. Koon, the superintendent, is ably assisted by group leaders who will care for children and adults. Youth groups meet at 6:30. There is a high school age group and another for college young folk. Two Lectures at Beacon Light Church Services will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Collins, and co-workers. A developing class is conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Looney. At a recent party given by her church friends, Mrs.

Collins was surprised at her home, corner of Rialto avenue and street. The inspiration for the party was Mrs. Collins' birthday anniversary, marking the half century milepost, of which the honoree ia proud. Friends of the church came provided with a beautifully decorated birthday cake and other refreshments. Many lovely gifts were presented to the pastor.

Paul's Methodist Episcopal church, South, will be an interpretation by Mrs. F. W. Rollins of a sacred song in the sign language used by the deaf. Mrs.

Rollins is the wife of the pastor. There also will be special music by the choir, under the direction of Mrs. T. C. Trolinger.

The pastor's sermon will be entitled "Demon Possessed." At 11 a.m. the Rev. Mr. Rollins' subject will be "The Way Out" and the choir will sing an anthem. Other services for the day are as usual.

Calvary Baptists To Hear Rev. Blood The Rev. Auther F. Colver, pastor of Calvary Baptist church, will exchange pulpits with the Rev. Horace B.

Blood, pastor of the First Baptist church in Colton, Sunday morning. Subjects of the sermons have not been announced. At 7:30 p.m. the pastor will preach on "The Soul's Blind Street." The service follows B.Y.P.U. meeting, at which Howard Vandeman will lead the lesson on "The Crowned Prince." The Leadership Training class also meets at 6:30, with Mrs.

J. Logan Stuart is pastor of the assembly, which meets in Pacific hall, 543 Third street Mrs. Perk3 will speak both morning and evening. Her subject for 11 a.m. is "Pillows" and for 7:30 p.m.

"The Unpardonable Sin." At 2:30 p.m. the Assembly will meet at Faith Tabernacle, Fourth street and Sierra Way, for baptismal services. Several are to be baptized and the public is invited. Evangelicals Plan Service of Carols A song service of Christmas Carols and hymns will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Evangelical church.

The program has been arranged so that the carols tell the story of the Birth of Jesus as indicated by scripture. At 11 a.m. the pastor, the Rev. Lyman M. Light, will preach on "Will the Advent Season Mean Increased Spirituality for You?" Sunday school convenes at 10 a.m.
