(Special) Mrs. Joseph T. Lawn, president of Lawn Wholesale died here last night following a month's Illness. A native of Vinton, Que, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.

John Mulllns. her maiden name being Gertrude Mulllns. She was-In her 63rd rear. Mrs. Lawn came to Cornwall with her husband In 1919 from Campbell's Bar.

when Mr. Lawn purchased the block and business of the late R. J. Oravelr. corner of Pitt, and First streets, where Lawn's smoke shop is still located.

Since the death of her hus band, Mrs. Lawn was president of Lawn Wholesale Ltd. Mrs. Lawn was a devout member of 8L Columban's Church and of the Catholic Women's League of that parish. Mr.

Lawn died on August 9, 1946. Surviving are four sons. Clarence Lawn and Charles Lawn, both of Cornwall; Joseph Lawn, Brockvllle; Gerald Lawn, Prescott. She also leaves one brother and three sisters. John Mulllns, Ottawa; Mrs.

Map SS, ISSS, Retired Engineer. C. J. Lake Dies Charles James Lake of 229 Primrose avenue, retired chief engineer of the James Davidson's Son Lumber Company, died today in hospital follow ing a lengthy illness, lie was 81. Prior to his retirement three years ago Mr.

Lake had been employed with the James Davidson's Sons Lumber Company for more than 3Syears. Born and educated in Kent, England, he came to Otawa 50 years ago. Me was married la England to the former Ada Eleanor Hlsoock 65 years ago. Mrs. Lake died In 1947.

Mr. Lake was a member of the Royal Navy for 12 years. He attended St. Luke's Anglican Church Surviving are one son, Herbert James Lake of Ottawa; five daughters, Mrs, Herman Wittenberg, Mrs. Grace O'Hira.

Maloney, all of Ottawa, and Mrs. Noel Sauve of Toronto; 14 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. The funeral service win be held Saturday in the Hulas and Playfalr chapel at pm. Canon Serson Clarke will officiate. Burial will be in Beechwood cemetery.
