FELTEN SERVICES Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Felten, whose death was reported in Tuesday's Register, will be at 10 a. m. tomorrow at the Waugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Don West officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. give Mother a box of sheer delight 4K6 Mrs. Earl Brooks Mrs. Florence V. Brooks, 56, of 417 -South Walnut, died yesterday at Allen County Hospital.

Born at Cape Girardeau, Mrs. Brooks moved to Moran with her parents and later lived in Humboldt for a number of years before moving to Iola. She lived here the past 26 years. Survivors include her husband Earl Brooks of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Ileene Gibson of Pasadena, four sons, Robert Wilson of New Jersey, Albert Boyd of Japan; Harold Rumbaugh in Germany and Charles Williams of Conway Springs; six sisters, Mrs.

Helen Hutton of Mildred, Mrs. Ina Cooper of Chase, Mrs. Ora Brabb of Ellis, Mrs. Dorothy Carpenter, Mrs. Edith Brown and Mrs.

Loraine Lake, all of California; a brother, Winfield Phillips of Denver; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Waugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilson Baker officiating.

Burial will be at Moran. Neosho Falls mothers. They returned home very happy but a tired bunch. The Past Matrons Club was entertained Monday afternoon in the home of Thelma Bedenbender. They celebrated one members birthday, Mabel Sullivans 82nd.

Games were played with Lydia Reynolds, Ethel Byrd and Mabel Sullivan receiving prizes. Lovely refreshments were served to Esther Williams, Ethel Byrd, Maude George, Peggy Sayles and Debbie, Lydia Reynolds, Mildred Thrall, Izetta Sherwood, Lucy Schnell, Marjorie George, Mabel Sullivan, Marion Famam, by the hostess. The next meeting place will be with Izetta Sherwood on June 1. George Robinson, district deputy Grand Master, Burlington, made his official visit to Tuscon Lodge No. 82 A.F.

A.M. Monday night. Visitors were present from Burlington and Wav-erly. Funeral services will be held in Ottawa Thursday for Ever-ette Thornbrugh. The body will be brought here for burial at Cedarvale Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at a Topeka hospital. A wonderful person and a good neighbor. The Happy Circle Club met Friday with Florence Henderson. The afternoon was spent visiting and playing games. Each one received a prize of some kind.

Roll call was answered by each member giving a new recipe or good one they had used and especially liked. Refreshments were served to seven members by the hostess Florence Henderson. It seems the sick folks from Neosho Falls are in Allen County Hospital are mostly getting better slowly. Rev. Roy Bradley of San Antonio, Tex.

Julia White, Topeka; and many other friends from Iola, Neosho Falls, Colony, Carlyle, Blue Mound, LeRoy, Moran and La Harpe. 4 4 4 Mrs. Singer Ta Present Plano Students In Recital Piano pupils of Mrs. Roy E. Singer will appear in recital Monday evening at the Presbyterian Church at 7:30.

The following students will play: Rhonda Higginbotham, Doug James, Becky ODell, Marilyn Womack, Nancy Potts, Ann Maxwell, Jeanine Mentzer, Glenda Day, Dianne Dixon, Nancy Parker, Linda Wall, Jill Talkington, Jan Sleeper, Jill Sleeper, Gail Moser, Jim Gray, Cheryl Whitteberry, Rhonda Harper, Pam Parker, Mary Paula Weast, Linda AnseU, Loretta Sutton, Lynn Sey-lert, Kathy Ashford, and Jan Wright. Kathy Singer will play a cello solo and Karen Singer will accompany Lynn Seyfert on the closing number, Miniature Concerto by Rowley. The public is invited to attend. 4 4 Ladies Charter League Give Bowling Awards The Charter League of the Ladies Bowling Association held a dinner meeting Tuesday night at Menegays North Restaurant. Sharon Leach, president, conducted the meeting, at which time kitty money, trophies and special awards were presented to the different teams.

First place team was Edmis-tons with the members; Neva King, Bernice Isaac, Barbara Moore, LeDena Mauk and', Rose Myer. Also a sponsors trophy was given to Max Willis, sponsor of the team. Ipla State Bank was the second place- team, 'the members being Louise Amanda Betty Yates, Luella Huntley and Mildred. Elliott Third place team was Meadow 1 Gold, team members Dede Benson, Lucille Lutz, Mary Lou, Hinson, Frances Tweedy and. Jo Individual trophies for High 10 went to Joan Willis for her score, of 275, and 30 to Mary! Carver for her score of 714..

Achievement Award went to Neva King for a 12 pin increase in her league average for the year. Last place cups went to the (Mrs. Belle Mefford) NEOSHO FALLS Tuesday was a very windy day and a half-inch of rain fell during the night, with terrific thunder and lightning, and wind. Mr. and Mrs.

Joe Sater drove to Kansas City Saturday, where they attended the wedding of their granddaughter, Miss Louise Lewrentiew to Alford Reed at the Methodist Church at 7:30 Saturday evening. They returned home Sunday evening. Johnnie Jewell and Jimmie Knoll, Neosho Falls seniors in Colony High School will attend Baccalaureate services May 17 and Commencement exercises May 20 at Colony. Terry Ruse and Charlene Chriestenson will graduate from LeRoy High School May 20. Mrs.

Mrs. Harry Cook was the program leader, using as her subject, Lets Face the Challenge of Change. Miss Mary Ann Col-trane sang, When God Gave Me You. A tribute to mothers was given by Miss Julia Todd, and the tribute to daughters was given by Mrs. Warren Tidd.

A flute duet, That Wonderful Mother of Mine, was played by Miss Nancy and Miss Shirley Upshaw. Miss Sheryl and Miss Judy Lynch sang a duet, M-O-T-H-E-R with Judy Lynch at the piano. A playlet. My Brother Is a Stranger, was given by Mrs. Bierly, Mrs.

Leon Schell, Mrs. Paul Wright, Mrs. Harold Shaffer, Mrs. Howard Upshaw and Mrs. Cecil Stout Mrs.

Lyle Minson, president conducted the business meeting. The meeting was closed by all praying the Misba benediction. 4 4 4 The Bradleys Observe Fiftieth Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Matt Bradley were honored by their daughter, Mrs.

Glenn Lucas, Mr. Lucas and family at a reception held in the Bradley home Sunday afternoon, in observance of their golden wedding anniversary. Refreshments of decorated cakes and punch were served by Mrs. Neil Bedenbender from a table covered with a white crocheted table cloth over gold. A floral centerpiece of yellow roses and gold leaves, the gold candles and four-tiered wedding cake were all gifts to the Bradleys from the Lucas family.

Dale Lucas was in charge of the guest book, and Miss Sherry Lucas was in charge of the gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lucas greeted the guests at the door. A tape recording of the festivities was made by Larry Lucas.

On Saturday evening Mrs. Bradley received a call from her brother. Bill Bohm of Fullerton, and on Sunday afternoon, Mr. Bradley received a call from his brother, the LEGSIZE STOCKINGS Mrs. Willard Crowell Mrs.

Ruth Crowell, 55, of rural Iola, died yesterday at Allen County Hospital. Born at Lamar, Mrs. Crowell came to Allen County with her parents when she was a child and lived here all her life. She was a bookkeeper for Glencliff Creamery in Iola. She held memberships in the E.U.

B. Church and the Star Valley Grange. Society Ladies Tuesday Bowlers Have a Luncheon The post season luncheon and meeting of the Ladies Tuesday Afternoon Bowling League was held at North Menegays at 1 p. m. Tuesday. The meeting was called to order by the league president, Helen Kim-sey. The invocation was given by the vice president, Louise Church.

Trophies were presented to the leagues three top teams, first place trophies went to Eunice Moore, Kate Emert, Gayle Smith and Sue Holtz of the Moore Sinclair team; second place trophies went to Frances Tweedy, Bonnie Huff, Wilma McGhee and Cindy von Soos-ten of the North Menegays team; third place trophies went to Lillie Dickerson, Delores Crabtree, Jo Dickerson and Donna Sigler. The leagues high series trophy and the W.I.B.C. high series pin was won by Kate Emert. Frances Tweedy received the trophy for the leagues high game. Bonnie Huff was voted the best sport of the season and was presented with the sportsmanship trophy.

Dorothy Fillmore won the W.I.B.C. Achievement Award for showing the most improvement in her average. Jerry Wright of the Country Lanes gave the league perfect attendance pins, and pins for games of 200 or over to be awarded to the following members: perfect attendance, Le- anna Brixey, Shirley Payne, -De-lores Crabtree, Lillie Dickerson, Donna Sigler, Delores Strickler, Meryl Ludlum, Mary Stanley and June Gilmore. For games of 200 or over, Jo Turley, Virginia Franklin, Frances Tweedy Kate Emert, Gayle Smith, Cora Seastedt, Lillie Dickerson, De-lores Crabtree, Vivian Barnett, Pat Anderson, Betty Holloway, Darlene Mohler and June Gilmore. A white elephant gift exchange resulted in several amusing incidents and proved to be a lot of fun.

The centerpiece at the officers table was given as a door prize and was won by Vivian Barnett. The luncheon was attended by 45 members and four guests, Mrs. Howard Kelly of Colony, sponsor of the Kelly Cafe of Colony team, Peggy Gilliland, Lurleen Shafer, sponsor of the Shafer TV team and city association president, Leah Keagle. George Caldwell Honored At a Surprise Dinner Party George Caldwell, high school and junior college physics instructor, who is retiring from teaching this year, was honored at a surprise dinner party attended by his fellow faculty members, administrators and other school personnel Tuesday evening in the school dining room. Husbands and wives were also present A May Day theme of baskets filled with spring flowers was used in the decorations.

Other retired teachers, Mrs. Florence Belding, Mrs. Hazel Maxson, and Mr. and Mrs. Seth Owens were guests.

On behalf of the group, Don Bain, assistant principal, presented Mr. Caldwell with a piece of luggage, matching one previously given to him by junior college students -and friends at the spring banquet of the college. Mrs. Caldwell received an orchid corsage and Mr. Caldwell a boutonniere for the occasion.

There were 69 persons present. A Mother-Daugher Meeting At Evangelical U. B. Church The Virginia and Esther circles of the W.S.W.S. of the E.

Randall, and several mothers drove to Iola Tuesday morning to see the circus unload animals and tents erected. They went, to the park for a sack lunch.
