and Mrs. McKean. V.F.W. Auxiliary Has a Meeting The V.F.W. Auxiliary met Monday night in the memorial hall with Uie president, Mrs.

Mary Young, presiding. Mrs. Zola Ballard, membership chairman, presented gift to Mrs. Elsie Morrison for securing the most new members. Mrs.

Lottie Elliff reported that the wheel chairs, hospital beds, and crutches belonging, the the auxiliary had been used in 72 Iola home during the past eight months. Team captains reported on an attendance contest held recently. Mrs. Morrison's team won the contest. Mrs.

Elzada Emmons, social chairman, announced that the losing team would entertain the winners at a covered dish dinner Monday, March 26 at 6:30 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Dorothy Keyser. The unit contributed $5 to the Red Cross.

A Party Is Given For Carol Sue Sift Carol Sue Slgg was seven years old yesterday and In celebration of the occasion her mother, Mrs. Oene Slgg entertained at a birthday party. The children played games and favors of Easter cookies, candy, and balloons were given the guests. Mrs. Sigg was assisted by Mrs.

The table from which the refreshments were served was laid with a beautiful lace cloth, and centered with an arrangement of blooming African violets, surrounded with Easter motifs. Modern Gospel Rider Uses a Motorcycle Pacific Beach, Calif. (AP) Rev. Frank Crane, 27, reminds members of his church of the old time country parsons who rode horseback to Visit their far-flung parishioners. The difference is that Crane, a fifth generation Methodist minister, uses a motorcycle. He makes daily calls on his modern contraption and says the idea has made him especially popular with the younger set.
