Ordered Back. Kansas Citt, March 19. The Times says: The Santa Fe strike is ended. The engineers and firemen on the entire system will be at their places this morning, and the road will be running as usual. At 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon It was known that the Santa Fe men would return to their places this morning.

Chairman Conroe of the grievance committee came in from To-peka yesterday morning and at once called a meeting of the grievance committee at the New Albany hotel, the headquarters of the strikers. When the meeting was ended Con-roe toon the 4:30 train on the Rock Island to Chicago, leaving orders, however, for the men to go back to their places. The engineers seemed to be glad the trouble was settled. They said that Conroe had stated that the Santa Fe had agreed to boycott Burlington freight, and it was on this basis that they were going back. They professed to regard it as a victory.

Assistant Superintendent Spoor was also glad that the strike was ended. He said that the circular printed in The Times yesterday morning was the company's ultimatum and he knew of no compromise. The return of the Santa Fe engineers and the refusal of the Ft. Scott men to strike is regarded here as the beginning of the end of the trouble. The Burlington strikers were mad and despondent.

They were counting largely on the Santa Fe strike and they seem, to realize that their chances of success are growing smaller daily. No trouble on the other roads entering' Kansas City is anticipated at present and railroad men cay that they flo not now regard a general strike at nX all probable. MEAT MARK ET. COR. ITH.
